3-5 games

Artest meant to elbow him to clear space yes, viscious elbow to the head? that is debatable, Artest never once made eye contact with Harden..

this is very similar to the elbow Ariza threw at DeRozan last season, only difference is of course it didnt connect

Ariza got 1 game btw

So he meant to clear space by pulling his arm back away from Harden, then swinging his elbow at him that hard to clear space......rather then just shove him aside? And why clear space, the play was over and all he had to do is go to his side of the court. It's not as if Harden was defending him and it got physical....the play was over. The way he pulled his arm back then swung does not show someone just clearing space.

I hope David Stern informs Artest that he will promptly be banned of even thinking of a ball related sport for the rest of his life. OR rest of season and playoffs.

Let MWP rot - he's earned it. Now....the real question is 'How the fuck do the Raps pry HArden away from OKC', This guy is the best 2 way guard after wade and Kobe and is coming off the bench when he should be starting. I want him here - go BC.

^^^^I can dream about Harden as a Raptor can't I?

I wonder when Stern is going to hand out the suspension already. It's surprising to me there's been no rumors or reports about the length of suspension yet. The Lakers last game is tomorrow.

Do the 7 games include any potential playoff games that end up not being required?

The NBA watched Artest's post game interview, not the play itself, and determined that Artest said he was sorry and it was an unintentional elbow. This is a below minimum suspension, and it does not suprise me too much. The Lakers are like 18% of the league's income, they get to make their own rules. Artest should be ready for the 2nd round of the playoffs, where we could see a OKC/L.A. matchup. All about the ratings bitches. Who cares is a guy got hurt, he needs to shave, nobody likes him or the Thunder anyway.

I think 7 games is good.

The "viciousness" of the blow is subjective. If he was suspended 10...20...30 games the league would be setting a precedent that any blow to the head could warrant the same suspension.

LA will want to lose two games on the first round to get Ron-ron back to start second round.

I think that was weak. And I think it would have been a good idea that was on NBA.com that he should be out minimum the time Harden is out + x games.

And the comparison to those Malone ones is ridiculous. Those were all happening in play situation and although he might have deserved flagrant fouls for them, I dont see any of them being anything like the Elbow on Harden. Ín the first it not actually an elbow even, but body tackle on a guy driving to hoop. Definately too hard foul and flagrant, but he is still defending the basket. The second one is one of those elbow flailings that you see in almost every game when a big guy rebounds. This time it just went a bit too high. Flagrant, yes, suspensions no. And the third one is too bad quality to judge.

If Ron Artest was playing for the Sixers the number would be significantly higher I think, and that is wrong. There is nothing subjective about this. This was not some blow to the head, this was a full windup and full connect from a dude that lost control. Forget the Beat LA chants. Just Fuck LA.

This is yet another sign that Stern has been holding onto his position a little too long.

I think it was Kenny Smith who brought up this point argueing against this being an accident. Guys air punch all the time when they hit game winners, and anyone who ever accidently hit a guy with their air punch is immediately taken over by a look of shock. Artest rocked Harden and didn't even hesitate after, obvious that it wasn't just an accident.

7 games isn't enough IMO
