Nuggets Melo: "I'm not Chris Bosh"

Quote:
If and when ‘Melo leaves the Mile High City, he promises not to leave the way a certain former Raptor did. From the NY Post: “The lines of communication already had been connected almost immediately after the exaggerated trade report surfaced. Ever since the ‘news’ hit the doorstep, Kroenke and Ujiri have sought out Anthony for opinions on team matters, just as he’s gone to them with suggestions. Both sides now know exactly what must be done. He wants to see the team improved within the next three months, or shown a plausible plan to get better this summer. He promises not to leave his team hanging. ‘I’m not Chris Bosh,’ Anthony declared. ‘We’re not the same person. What I do will be straight up. Management knows that.’ Considering Anthony’s tentative Nuggets future, management has an almost impossible assignment. How do you get better when you’ve got to give up an asset to get one? How do you buy a wheel for a car that might soon be repossessed? How do you do balance business and justice when Martin and J.R. Smith are rising free agents and Chauncey Billups can be bought out of next season’s $14.2 million obligation for $3.75 million? The key is not to make hasty decisions. The idea is to see how things play out in the standings over x-amount of games so fantasy can be separated from reality. The hope is to get Martin and Andersen back on the court. If Karl, who’s back holding players accountable, and the two brutes were at the top of their defensive game, would Anthony be tempted to leave?”

CB4 didnt leave us hanging. I'm pretty sure we'd be 2-8 even if he was still here.

And this Melo Drama cant be healthy for the Nugs.

Really, you don't think he would have made a difference in games vs NY, and the game we were leading by 17 in Sacremento? It kills me when people say Bosh being here right now wouldn't change anything. I think if he's here we're likely .500

Not to say that's a great thing but we'd be better, don't kid yourself.

Melo seems like he knows the financial fundamentals of the game. I like Melo, never been a hater. I like that he says it how it is. He wants a championship just as much as everyone else and know that if the Nuggets don't make some changes he can't carry the team against the Lakers, Celtics and Miami's of the league. At least he's getting involved and trying to help the Nuggets make change. unlike Bosh who wouldn't tell us until he told the world.

Free Melo.

Yeah, I still give credit to Bosh, he did play hard when he was ON the court. So he would fit in well with this blue collar group. I would expect atleast a .500 record too.

It's surprising to hear a star player throw Bosh under the bus.... he's right in his assessment, but to say it is something different. It's not about whether Bosh would make us better if he were here, but rather about how he pretended not to know that he'd be leaving right up until his decision which just so happened to coincide with Wade's decision.

Bosh isn't a man of his word.... and after how he was treated by so many as some franchise saviour, no wonder Colangelo would be pissed and slag him.

Bosh made the right decision in terms of winning, but he went about it cowardly and childishly. Nice to hear him be called out again.

Anyone who says we would still be 2-7 with Bosh is delusional. If we still had Bosh we'd most likely be above .500

QFT. if Bosh didn't leave on a sour note he would still be loved here but the way he went about it just destroyed his credibility.

Really?

Maybe I missed the interview where he said.... "I'm re-signing with Toronto."

couple things: i never found Bosh to be someone who got a lot of respect from the other players and i also don't take anything these guys (melo, Bosh, Lebron, etc) say seriously.

No. But he never came out and said "I'm re-signing.".

After last season did you honestly think that he was going to stay?

I don't think that any of us were THAT optimistic TBH.

Not really.... but that's just me.

There was also this little gem from that same article.

Quote:
His comments may be viewed by some in Toronto as an indication that Toronto is till in the running, but we all know that with our roster as it is currently constructed, is not in the running. A trade of Bargnani and Calderon may change that, but it is not likely Colangelo will move his 1st overall mistake.
Pretty much sums up my POV.

Now what Boozer did to CLE years back? THAT was flat out lying.

Funny. Players in other cities know what is going on, but here, a lot of people are oblivious.

Chris Bosh was honourable in saying that he would work with his team and not leave management holding the bag. And he, Wade and LeBron did not know what was going on before "the decision". They all decided that day what they were going to do, then went out to Burger King to celebrate with Elvis Presley.
