hes a great coach, i blame the GM for the team he put together after broy and oden weren't coming back. to many old guys that can't do much anymore and the felton for miller trade. miller was amazing on that team.

they're getting blown out the past few games because the guards are playing mediocre ball despite aldridge going beast mode every night.

sound familiar? like chris Bosh on the Raptors familiar?

I guess something had to happen. They couldn't get rid of Matthews and Felton so I guess they turned to McMillan.

They have too much talent to be losing like this.

Not unexpected at all. I was pretty sure Nate wouldn't last longer than today as head coach after that 42 point blowout vs. the Knicks. Too bad though, not exactly his fault at all.

Portland was looking in getting rid of him, so this was kind of expected

It came up a couple of times in Thriller's thread.

1- They had a bad record in games decided by 5 or fewer points, especially in the first half of the sched. Unless they blew teams away in the first 3 quarters, they were fucked.

2- The big reason for point 1 was the guards shitting the bed. In particular, Crawford and Felton.

Nate isn't a bad coach. I'd bet on him landing a HC job somewhere else in the next couple of years, assuming he wants back in.

jordan is offering a job to him during the summer. mcmillian can make shit sparkle, especially what he's done with the trailblazers at the start of the season when they were tearing everything up after they lost roy and oden

Well, Felton is also new. Both Crawford and Felton were off-season acquisitions. The Blazers traded Andre Miller for Felton.

Felton and Crawford were a big part of the problem in the first half of the season when they lost a bunch of close games. They were missing wide open looks. A couple of the games I watched were disgusting. Aldridge got doubled, kicked it out, the ball moved to the open guy on the perimeter and ....clank. Even when they were above .500 there was a problem with the consistency of the outside shooting.
