Oh, maybe his wifey just wanted to go there then. And Odom wanted to give it a shot? Everytime I saw Odom in a Mavs uni, the guy look depressed out of his mind.

Lamar Odom could come back to Los Angeles Lakers as 'ball boy,' Metta World Peace jokes - ESPN Los Angeles

Lamar should become a ballboy and hike a big mountain according to MWP.

After the Mavericks lost to the Memphis Grizzlies Dallas superstar DIRK NOWITZKI and LAMAR ODOM got into a physical altercation.

Word in the locker room is that Dirk was unhappy with Lamar’s lack of focus and he confronted him, and when Lamar challenged Dirk back – it WAS ON. And get this . . . we hear that Dirk GOT THE BETTER of Lamar. The 7 foot Dirk got in a few LICKS (POW . . . POW) before teammates broke it up.

Two days after the altercation . . . Lamar got DROPPED!!!

He's been depressed for a number of reasons. Death of some teenage biker, death of a close cousin, feeling betrayed by the city he considers home. He thought about taking an extended break from the NBA for those reasons...

That reason is unfortunate for him, but it should be understandable. No matter how much Odom loved where he was, getting someone like a Chris Paul to play with Kobe and Bynum is worth taking that shot. Anyone would've made that trade. Their chances of winning a championship were much better than if Odom stays. They maybe could've snagged Beasley from Minny for cheap too.

The Mavericks were a championship team before Lamar Odom arrived. He’s gone now — even if he remains on the roster — but it’s crazy to think that this can become a championship team simply by disposing of him.

Owner Mark Cuban, not surprisingly, disagrees with that.

“I’ve been telling you guys all we’ve got to do is make the playoffs, be healthy and be playing good basketball,” Cuban said. “There’s nine games left and we’re in a fight. We’ll see.”

It’s down to eight games now after the Mavericks’ 110-100 victory over Sacramento on Tuesday at American Airlines Center. Oddly enough, the win over the Kings was Dallas’ first without Odom this season. They were 0-7 in games that Odom missed before he and the Mavericks agreed Monday that his season was over.

Cuban acknowledged that the end came after a heated halftime exchange with Odom following the forward’s uninspired four minutes at Memphis on Saturday night.

“We had come back to get into the game. The guys were fired up in the locker room and he was emotionless,” Cuban said. “That was my trigger.”

“I just asked him, does he want to go for it or not. Is he in or is he out? I think he thought we were playing poker. I just didn’t get a commitment. And that was the end,” Cuban said before the game in his first public comments about Odom’s departure.

When asked if that was the first time he noticed Odom having such a demeanour, Cuban responded, “No, but the first 17 times, I decided to try to help him and turn it into a positive.”
