He's the starting C in San Antone. They're winning. He looks pretty good.

Maybe BC had what he was looking for with Andrea, right under his nose when he arrived here.

They start him a couple games every year just to get him, and also Finley and a couple of their other scrubs feeling good. Anyone can fit in that system. They only turned the ball over like 6 times in 6 periods last night, ridiculous@!@!

Once playoff time comes I dont think theres any doubt Oberto will be back in the starting 5 as usual. Kurt Thomas being out helps Bonners case too.

I don't know Thrill, other years they would start Bonner, but only play him 10-15 minutes.

This year Bonner has consistantly been playing 25-30min in that starter roll.
Last night Oberto only got 7min off the bench.
And KT is getting older, and slower, and he doesn't have the three ball that Bonner has which really spreads the court for the important three.

Bonner is a great roll player. You don't have to run any plays for him, he's got quick feet and quick hands, plays good help defense, and he knocks down open shots.

Sometimes he doesn't match up well with really quick PFs, or Cs, but Pop will usually make the right call and take him out in those situations.

And it does feel good being one of the few Bonner supporters when he was on the Raps, and seeing him start and get big minutes for a team like the Spurs.

Another thing about the Spurs, everyone talks like it's so crazy to get a decent PG who plays defense. The Spurs got one in George Hill, and I think he went undrafted this year.

I was watching the San Ant feed the other day and they were talking about Bonner. They asked him why he doesnt hesitate to take the 3 pointers as a center. He said "Coach told me if I dont, he would bench me"

Everyone looks good when they are surrounded by allstars.

Sorry Thrills - I honestly didn't mean to get your back up - but the guy has shown that he has some value.

He showed that when he was here, too, imo.

bonner is an athlete away from being an all-star. he came to mind when there was a discussion about basketball IQ the other day. probably one of the smarter ball players around.

Last night he played 10x better defense on David West than O'Neal or Bosh did. He made him work his ass off to get the basketball, and consequently West rushed things when he got it.

David West hit his 4th and 5th three of the season in the final 4 minutes to propel NO to victory, but Bonner played great defense nonetheless.

Matt Bonner is the man!

Matt has found a place in San Antonio and I'm really happy for him. If you're a Matt Bonner fan, check out http://theredrocket.net - it's a Web site I run that has Bonner news, photos, videos, etc.

Let me know what you think.

It's really cool. Is it about Matt Bonner and SA only. What about the Raps

Hey, thanks - it's Matt Bonner only - I love the Raps but there are plenty of good sites (like this one) for them already - this is for my favourite player, Matt Bonner.

Speaking of which - I posted an article today. There are a lot of voices around the Internet that think Bonner is deserving of more credit these days. Not just the few of us on this forum.
