Marion Open To Long-Term Contract With Heat

WOW ... I honestly have to say that I'm surprised by that. But as long as Wade is there with him, I guess I could see why Marion would want to stay. :)

Pat Riley believes that Marion and Dwyane Wade could be the new Michael Jordan - Scottie Pippen guard-forward tandem of the NBA.

Pat Riley just shit himself, he thought he was clearing some cap space.

INSIDER 02-09-2008 01:20 PM

of course he'll say that... he wants them to put up some big dollar signs in his face.
he'd never say anything like wanting to bail as soon as the season's over... the fans and his teamates would crucify him.

Dr. J. Naismith 02-09-2008 01:31 PM

I'm more curious to see how Marion fairs without a PG like Nash getting him the ball. I think its safe to say that J-Will and Banks are no Steve. Now we'll get to see how well Marion can create on his own. Should be interesting. ;)

Acie 02-09-2008 01:40 PM

Marion's not stupid. Staying in Miami = 17 million and being out on the free market means 10 million or less.

Kuzzy 02-09-2008 02:49 PM

Wade+Marion
like
Jordan+Pippen
AHAHHA
AHHAHAA
AHAHHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Pat
WADE IS NOT THAT GREAT, and without a true PG, where going to see the REAL Shawn Marion and his ugly jumper.

pimpery 02-09-2008 03:42 PM

Wade is great, maybe not Jordan great, but one of the best in the world imo.

nope....

and marion is crap, IMO.
he'll suffer without a good pg spoon feeding him.

pimpery 02-09-2008 08:49 PM

4give me if i overrate players that in their 1st three years almost single handedly take an average at best team to a championship :0

INSIDER 02-10-2008 02:05 AM

of course... the most dominant Center (at the time) had absolutely nothing to do with it...

pimpery 02-10-2008 05:22 AM

lol did u watch the playoffs that year? I believe it was Wade leading Shaq to the promised land, not the other way around....

INSIDER 02-10-2008 07:16 PM

no one ever said shaq lead wade... i'm just pointing out the fact that Shaq was on that team too... you seemed to have forgotten.

hows "the best player in the world" doing this year btw?

pimpery 02-11-2008 02:11 AM

I didnt say he was the best, i said he is one of the best, and definately has one of the biggest hearts in sports, if every1s hero bargs had half his heart he could be a great player.

He is fearless, has been playing hurt for a very very very long time now, and is willing to do anything to win, i dont know how you can find a fault with a guy like him.

Let him get to 100% again and he will once again be a top player in the world.

As for the marion haters, not a bad debut, 14 and 14.

INSIDER 02-11-2008 01:51 PM

yup, marion looked very impressive actually.
14/14 with 3 blocks and 3 steals i think.

unfortunately for wade, he will probably never get to 100%... because of that heart of his.
he plays too fearless to be honest, and has destroyed his body in the process.
he would be considered a great, but i'm afraid he wont be around long enough to warrant that title.
he'd have to sit out a whole year to get himself to 100%...

Dr. J. Naismith 02-11-2008 01:56 PM

Give it time, but I think there's a little buzz in Miami once again and once Marion and Wade get used to one another, the Heat might be another couple pieces away from being a contender again. Eventhough they lost by 10 yesterday to the Lakers, I liked what I saw. It was fun basketball. :)

INSIDER 02-13-2008 11:05 AM

Marion: 23/18 last night.
yikes.
i may be eating a nice big pile of crow if he keeps this up.
i'm quite impressed.
maybe he was under appreciated in Phoenix.

Did you watch the game too insider? Hes a stat sheet stuffer where you look at the boxscore at the end of the game and say WOW, HE HAD 23+18? NO WAY. He has the biggest stats for the smallest impact of anyone in the NBA.

nope, didnt watch it.
i hope you're right... i hate the guy, i dont want to eat crow.

but i totally get what you mean, he's one of those guys who will have huge numbers and you didnt even realize he was playing.
but still 23/18 is extremely good.
along with his 15/14 previous game, he does have an arguement for himself.

i wonder how his numbers will look when the team loses its 10th straight and he loses his desire.
he's used to being in first, now he's on the owrst team in the league.
i guarentee he gets disgruntled soon and bolts at the end of the year.

Ive always been confused on Marion haters... all he does is fill the lanes and do the small things that it takes to win the game, plus D up and hit big shots. Yea, easy to hate a guy like that, til he is on your team ;)

you forgot to mention that he's a lockeroom cancer and a bitch of a team mate.
the suns big wigs realized he was killing the team internally and making others uncomfortable...
not to mention the fact that he's demanding 20 million for the next 5 years... sigh.

yeah, i dont see why some people hate him.

and i forgot to mention he shoots like a fag.
:)
