Marbury Lashes Out At Teammates, D'Antoni

Ugh ... maybe Starbury in TO isn't such a good idea after all.

"When things got bad and then worse, guys like Quentin Richardson say, 'I don't consider him a teammate. He let his teammates out to dry.' He didn't care I was his teammate when I was banished," Marbury said. "They left me out for dead. It's like we're in a foxhole and I'm facing the other way. If I got shot in the head, at least you want to get shot by the enemy. I got shot in the head by my own guys in my foxhole. And they didn't even give me an honorable death."

President Donnie Walsh, who is scheduled to meet with Marbury about a possible solution on Monday, suspended the point guard for Saturday's game against Golden State because the Knicks said he refused to play Wednesday night in a loss at Detroit.

"Mike had no intentions of me playing basketball here," Marbury added. "He gave me straight disrespect. It was beyond disrespect. He put in [Danilo] Gallinari, whose back is messed up and [who] didn't participate at all in training camp ahead of me [in the season opener]. ... That's saying, 'I'm letting you have it right now.' He was sticking it to me."

Agreed MK. Head cases like him need a reason to play (See VC).

If he were to come here i'd hope for

1) He's so glad to get out of NY that he's happy to play 20-30 minutes per and thrives.
2) He wants to stick it to The Knickerbockers!

Can anyone really blame Marbury though? Blame here should be split equally amongst the management and the player.

Which is true. I mean, don't come right out and say that Marbury isn't going to play. That kind of tactics works with some players (to inspire them to playe better/harer/more of a team concept) - but it doesn't work on all players. At the same time, Marbury has an obligation to STFU and play. He gets paid $20 mil a year (or whatever he earns) to play a game.

I don't think Marbury comes across all that bad here. maybe his comparison is a bit hardcore, but i don't think he's wrong.

He was slapped hard in the face by D'antoni and the knicks. I'd be pissed off if i was him as well.

Marbury has a right to be upset.
Dantoni and the Knicks really wanted him to just leave and opt out... and they tried really hard to make it happen - by being assholes.

I like Marbury, and I think the Knicks should have been more respectful to him. I think it was handled poorly, but I still remember the glory days of Marbury, and hope that there's more to come.

If Marbury comes to Tdot and we get Knicks the 1st round of playoffs. I can see us going 4-0 with the help of star. I kinda feel sorry for him.
