Celtics Marbury done with the Celtics after low ball offer

Quote:
Stephon Marbury told the Boston Globe early Friday that he believes his time with the Celtics is over.

Marbury told the paper that the Celtics offered him a one-year contract worth the veteran's minimum of $1.3 million.

"Thank you Boston for allowing the world to see me play again after all that went on in N.Y.," said Marbury. "The fans treated me with open arms and that's all anyone can ask for."

He revealed that three other teams are interested in his services.
Wow, now that is a major ass drop in salary if he took it.

He proved to be exactly what he is....a team killer. Whenever he was on the floor, he did all he could to show that he was "the man". All it showed is that he is the has-been hog.

My wish is for Starbury and The Answer to sit at home together watching NBA teams flourish without them.

WTF are you talking about?....did you watch a single celtics game?....i was getting pissed at him for not taking wide open shots.....he was trying to involve the team eventhough that is not his game....kinda like Iverson...but at least he tried.....so please don't bullshit about things you dont know....this kinda thing pisses me off, especially when a player has tried soo hard to change his image...

When Marbury came on the floor all the offense stopped. He half-heartedly tried to see a couple passes and then threw up crazy wild shots. I was watching for this reason alone. Rondo was playing heavy minutes at the end of games cuz they just couldnt keep Hogbury out there.

I was watching and loving every minute of it. Karma is a bitch.

Why do you think they low balled him?

nvr understood why the boston fans cheered him when he got on the floor, if i was a celts fan i woulda boo'd the hell outta him even if he was on my team. selfish sellout, hope he goes to europe and stays there forever.

One of the most difficult periods of Stephon Marbury's life took a painful turn last night when his father, Don, died after attending the Knicks' game at Madison Square Garden, the team spokesman Jonathan Supranowitz confirmed. Don Marbury Sr. was taken from the arena by ambulance during the Knicks' 115-104 loss to the Suns. The cause of death was not immediately known. A person who spoke with Knicks officials last night confirmed that Don Marbury had chest pains when he was taken from the arena. He died a short time later at a local hospital. Team officials kept the locker room closed for about 25 minutes after the game, apparently because players were in shock, and to allow Stephon Marbury to leave before the news media entered.
The guy is still trying to recover after he lost his dad... so give him respect

those shoes were one of the best things marbury has done. trying to make a brand and an athletic shoe accessible to kids living in poverty can't possibly be seen as a bad thing...

That's not even close to what happened when he was on the floor, but you see what you want to see.

If that was the case he wouldn't of been on the floor and they would of gone with House and Rondo and that's it, Boston was trying to win a playoff game, not being charitable and giving everyone pt.

you clearly didnt watch enough Celtics Games to understand the effect he had on the team....most of the time he was a good backup but on other night he drove to the basket, hit some important jumpers and kept the Celtics in the game....i watch all the celtics games, so please dont talk out of your ass......

Wtf are you saying?

Marbury was signed for the vet minimum in Boston. The $21mil he was owed comes from the Knicks.
