Luke Jackson not giving up just yet

Looks like Luke giving it one last kick at the can here in North America. Idaho Stampede from the D-League acquired his services.

If he was a smart man, he'd go play in Europe where he can actually make some money instead of working from year to year like he is now.

No stranger to Idaho, Jackson averaged 14.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 23 games for the Stampede and earned two GATORADE Call-Ups (L.A. Clippers, Toronto Raptors ) during the 2006-07 season. During a combined 13 games with the Clippers and Raptors, Jackson averaged 3.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 10.6 minutes per game.

"We are excited to have Luke back," said Stampede Head Coach Bryan Gates. "Anytime you can have a player of his caliber, you have to jump on it."

A member of the 2007-08 Raptors' preseason roster, Jackson, 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, appeared in five exhibition games and averaged 2.6 points and 1.1 rebounds in 8.5 minutes including seven points in nine minutes against the Washington Wizards on Oct. 26.

A first-round selection (10th overall) by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2004 NBA Draft, Jackson played two seasons with Cleveland, averaging 2.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in 46 appearances and holds career averages of 2.9 points and 8.4 minutes during 59 games in the NBA.

Again, I have nothing against Luke Jackson. I've always thought he's a nice player. But man, go to Europe the comp is better than what you see in the D league.

Exactly ... go to Europe and play against talent which is million times better than the D-League and in 3 or 4 years from now maybe some teams from the NBA will be interested in you considering more and more are looking for options there rather than here. Not to mention, he'd make a ton more money playing overseas too. What do they make in D-League now? $500 a week and tickets for all you can eat at Denny's.

I'm glad to hear he's found work but i agree with all of you that he might consider playing in Europe for a season or two to hone his game....particularly on the defensive end.

I'm a big fan of Luke Jackson. He's a good player, with a good head on his shoulders. Hell that one game in Miami last year showed what he's capable of.

I like Luke's game, but more often than not with the Raps he looked like a deer in headlights.

yup, i was always rooting for him...
but its true, he never really made any consistant noise in a raps uni.

if he did make the team, moon probably wouldnt have, so we're lucky in that respect.

but in all seriousness, he'd be attached to the bench like a magnet...
look at dixon, he was a HUGE contributer last season, this season he hasnt seen the light of day... even with ford out, he didnt play once.
i know he has zero D, but he can light it up on occasions, i;'m very surprised he's being buried on the pine.... he avg 10 ppg last year.

I am also surprised that Sam is throwing Martin in and avoiding to insert Dixon... IMO Dixon is better...

martin isnt in the same league as juan.
martin should be bagging my groceries.

juan had a stellar year last season, providing big games... 10 ppg.
now we dont even see the guy at all.
its very surprising, i dont get it.
