Lottery teams may trade down or out of Draft

Some NBA executives think that lottery teams will look to trade down or trade for a 2010 pick if their "need guy" isn't there due to the lack of overall quality beyond Blake Griffin.

We may have a good opportunity to move up into the top 5-6??

Draft really ends after #1. Number 2 if Rubio declares.

After them its just solid players.

Clark, DeRozan, Harden, Warren, Blaire, Thabett all just gonna be solid at best.

I'd take any of those players. And who really knows long term if one or more of these players becomes more then expected. It's a crap shoot.

crazy how this is such a bad year talent wise in both the nfl and nba drafts

NaturallyStoned 04-04-2009 06:46 PM

I think the writer might be referring to lower level lottery teams such as NY (mentioned in the article), Jersey or Milwaukee- teams that are looking to shed salaries, and don't want to take on guys (with guaranteed contracts) that they're iffy on.

Still got NHL. Dawn, Leafs don't have a chance at Tavares :(

I'd try and get those picks if they were available. Raps need some youth and who knows these draft picks could become superstars

No way Burke goes for Braeden Schenn. He goes for another D-man (probably Jared Cowen).

He's not afraid to make a big move, but unfortunately, there's no assets available to trade up.

The Leafs want Schenn's brother Braydon.

here's another one for you, they are also going to sign the Sedins.

It isn't just because Burke drafted um either, there's a better story. But I'm not getting into it.

So that Sundin comes back? They're linemates right now in Vancouver.
If that's the case, right then and there, it's 3 players for a top 6.

If I were them, I'd look into trading away Toskala for picks and picking up Clemmensen or Emery as a #1. Pogge just ain't gonna cut it.
