They are now as good as Indiana on defense. With that kind of defense and Marc/ZBO upfront, they are going to have a fair shot against anyone in the playoffs.

I doubt he's pissed, but I also doubt he's fully convinced they're better off yet. Only 2 of those 8 wins came against teams with above .500 records. A few of their games have been ugly as hell on offense, like the ones against us and Brooklyn.

We'll see how they do in the playoffs. I still think there are pluses and minuses to the trade, just like there are for the Raptors.

They already were one of the best defensive teams in the league. The Grizz have bounced between 1st-3rd best defensive rating in the league all year. Memphis had amazing D before the trade ever happened.

Memphis got a defensive three they needed and we got a scoring three that we needed. Everything worked out for everyone. Both teams are better. Zach and Marc Gasol are better than Rudy this year so they get to use them more.

Memphis is still playoff fodder.

Except we were already a top 10 offensive team in the league before the trade, and Memphis was already a top 3 defensive team.

The practical results are kind of the opposite of what you're saying, because our defense is better after the trade, but our offense is pretty much the same, if not slightly worse from a team perspective. The sample size is still small enough that it shifts a bit from game to game. We're more talented, though, and hopefully that works out in the long run. But there are still pluses and minuses to the trade, and you can see that in losses to teams like Cleveland and Washington.

I really don't want to throw Rudy under the bus until one full training camp.

Anyone that does is pretty silly imo. Lets see what BC does this summer to add talent (Bargs trade, backup PG etc...) and go into next season with a fresh start.
