Nets Lee: Trade to NJ was a Dagger

I really like this kid. I think NJ is going to surprise a lot of people.

Quote:
The TV was tuned into the NBA Draft, because Lee wanted to see where his high school sidekick — Jeff Teague of Wake Forest — was going to end up. But the entire night is still a blur. And the fact that he was traded for a genuine star, Vince Carter, didn’t mitigate the numbness he felt.

“All I could think was, ‘Wow, this is a dagger,’” the Nets shooting guard said Wednesday. “And it took a while to get over it.”

It took weeks, in fact, before Lee was able to get over the sting of being traded from an NBA Finalist in the Magic to a team halfway through a three-year rebuild. The sting, however, gradually wore off. Eventually, he felt more wanted than rejected. And he has learned that an NBA career is only partly about circumstance; it is primarily about what you make of it.

Agreed Acie. I don't see him being spectacular piece, but he'll be the kind of piece you add to a winning team.

I really like what the Nets have done so far.

They have a fantastic core in Lopez, Harris, Lee, Williams. Factor in another draft selection this year and ample cap room in the summer and they're going to be right up there next year.

Don't forget about Chris Douglas-Roberts. Dude's got potential coming out the ying-yang. If he can put it all together watch out.
