After 7 years in the league with no ring, I think it's time to go.
He's playing with complete trash and Cavs don't have money to spend this summer. Also, if he joins forces with Wade+Bosh/Solid big man... we're looking at an implacable force
I'm 70/30 on this one...
thoughts?

I think it is more likely now that the Cavs lost in the 2nd round, but I think that all of the big 3 stay put. I don't think that any of them are better off anywhere else, unless 1 or more of them team up, and I don't think either Flash or CB4 are willing to be the 2nd dog.

Think LBJ wamted Cleveland to lose in 2nd round it gives him the excuse to excape.
I feel sorry for Cleveland who have they left?
I guess Williams is there best player but he is just slightly better than Jose or Jack.
Then Jamison he is 34 still owed 28 million over 2 years.
In sign and trade likely won't get much best player likely Deng if he goes to Chicago?
Raptors in much better shape than Cleveland at least have 4 good young players Weems, DD, Amir and Bargs a base to build around.

Wonder where Shaq will be next year Miami at Veterans minimum??????

Since talking about LBJ I thought this would be a good place to put this:

From Chad Ford of ESPN:

Quote:
Boston Celtics fans were chanting "New York Knicks" during Thursday's Game 6 every time that LeBron James went to the foul line. Maybe they should've been chanting "Chicago Bulls."

Within minutes of the Cleveland Cavaliers' elimination at the hands of the Celtics, the speculation about LeBron James' next destination resumed in full force.

In the space of five minutes I heard from three NBA GMs via text, e-mail and phone. All three said that based on the information they have, they believe LeBron will leave the Cavs.

More surprisingly, all of them said they believe the destination will be the Chicago Bulls. Two said they believe that John Calipari will be the Bulls' new head coach.

One GM went a bit further in a phone call a few minutes later. "I think the Bulls are really going to go for it. Look for them to offer the Cavs Luol Deng in a sign-and-trade for LeBron. That will allow them to retain most of their cap space. Then they'll go after Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh as well."

I'm sure we'll hear various scenarios involving the Knicks, Nets and Heat over the course of the next month. But it's hard to come up with any other scenario that would be quite as appealing for LeBron.

Cavs without LeBron are nothing. They will be a lottery team and no big time FA will want to go there with him gone. They will suck next year if he doesn't come back.

He's as good as gone.
Lebron is a spotlight whore... and the spotlight in Cleveland is dimming.
i think he knows personally that he's done everything he can for that team and organization, and theres nothing else left that he can do to become a winner there... so he will not stay.
he needs a fresh start.

if (when) lebrion leaves, i assumed cle would be in a dire situation. it's actually not as bad as i thought it was. certainly they will be terrible for a few years, but there is potential for rebuilding there.

shaq and lebron amount to $37+ mil coming off the books this year. that takes them down to approx $48 mil in committed salaries next year.

they have another $11+ mil in expiring contracts for next year, which would either be cap relief or trade value (west, parker and powe all have value as guys that can play and are expiring).

they will surely get a decent lottery pick next year and likely the year after that as well.

jamison only has one more year on his deal after next year. same with jamario.

mo williams contract starts declining in value after next year (dropping by a little over $800,000).

in 2011-2012 they only have $38 mil in committed salary. if they can get rid of jamison's expiring contract before then they will only have $23 mil in committed salary.

give them 2-3 years, a couple of lottery picks and the hope that they don't further fuck this situation up, and you have a team that is primed for rebuilding.

is that a silver lining?

Default If Lebron leaves......

How much do you think the Cavs could get if he is willing to do a sign and trade?

It's not like the Bosh situation, EVERYONE will want him. They might be willing to clear out most of what they have just for Lebron and then spend their new cap space on free agency!

I honestly think Cleveland could end up with a decent team when all is said and done!

Do you think Cleveland could still be a contender next year?

In reality what does LGJ care about getting the MAX the reality is that he would lose 1 million a year and get one less year on a contract. If Cleveland does a sign and trade it will be with Chicago who would give up Deng.
With Clevelands current roster they would have trouble beating NJs win total this year.

That base lost more than it won. 3 out of those 4 players are bench riders on a decent team. Toronto is NOT in any position but a bad one.

Sorry to seem negative, but I'm only being realistic. 2 years ago I was all over how awesome this team would be, but so far, a few gambles have failed. And the franchise is gonna pay for it.

He's gonna stay. It'll be bad business for the NBA if their stars leave for other cities.

Besides, LBJ couldn't do it all. His supporting cast didn't step up. His statline is cazy seeing that he played with ligament problems in his elbow.
