That duo (CP3 and D12) could be solid for another 8-10 years.

Fisher, Artest, Odom, Bynum, Gasol, Brown, Blake

Are their only positive trade assets.
Are Blake and Fisher positive assets at this point? I'm not sure. Nice locker room guys.
Shannon Brown is a free agent.
Meta World Piece is definitely not a positive trade asset.

So, basically, Bynum, Gasol, Odom, picks and they can absorb some bad contracts. Well, and Kardashians.
Not much. I'd say Howard alone would cost Gasol and Bynum at the very least, considering what the other teams can offer.

Good point. Not going to happen for many reasons, but it would be the right move from basketball point of view. Maybe you'd even get to keep some pieces around them.

Kobe is a positive asset, but I dont see them trading him at all

Unless youre talking about Kobe/Odom/+ for Jrich + Howard
Then Bynum/Gasol for CP3/+

it doesn't matter if he didn't have one either. you can't do anything without his consent.....
it was made a huge deal that they hired brown without consulting him first

True enough, though that was mostly because they were keeping Kobe - if they decided to trade him, I think they'd be a little less concerned about his approval, without that clause.

I'm thinking this is all just wishful thinking on the media's part - stiring the pot as they say - to the so called media pundits who think they know what they are talking about (got to use it 2x's now )

Just getting D12 is more than enough imho. To me the chemistry is more important to go with the talent - and you have an all star big 3. I also think a lot of people seriously under value what Fisher brings to the table. Having Fish, Kobe, Artest, Gasol and D12 as a starting 5 with Blake, Barnes, Odom and a few others off the bench would annihilate all but the a few - fantastic defence and scoring, top 3 in the league for both I would think (maybe even number 1 for defence). And as an added plus, you get rid of Bynum, who personally I think is a major injury prone cancer. That would be a monster team for a few more years to come.

I hate being teased. As a Lakers fan, I don't really want Paul on the Lakers, I'd be really happy if they got Dwight, and only Dwight. If somehow they can trade Bynum/Odom/Gasol and get Dwight/Paul/Okafor that'd be nuts, but I don't see that as being realistic (any deal bringing Paul and Dwight to LA is unrealistic). Dwight + Kobe + Gasol is unstoppable though. Defence would be crazy good under coach Mike Brown...

I was commenting on that above, how the Lakers really only need Dwight, not enough ball for Paul and Kobe...

Dwight + Gasol + Metta + Kobe = top defence in the league IMO. and the Fish is smart enough to keep his man in front of him or let him drive into other 'better' defenders - like what Garbo used to do for us (man I miss his D).

Agree 100%.... but I don't there's any way that the Lakers keep Gasol while acquiring D12.

People would scream bloody murder... and they'd be right.

Some people are saying that Odom and Bynum and maybe 1st rounder is enough to grab Howard, but who knows.

Howard and Gasol alone will cause nightmares up front for any team as matchups. And Ill say either getting Paul/Howard will make Lakers a deadly team regardless

An aging forward and a Centre who can't seem to stay healthy?

I have to agree with that. Unfortunately though, if Gasol goes and Dwight comes, then Bynum still has to go.
