If they are tanking, they should've kept him.

Just trying to reduce their tax bill a little.

Lakers are making a Legends team. The museum will be opening in late October. It's really close to being finished. They just need to sign Odom and Fisher, then try and track down Sasha Vujecic. These performances will include a handful of festivities and halftime shows with Shaq, Magic, and Kareem.

As has been discussed before, the teams with cap space get the first opportunity to make a bid. Off the top of my head, out of those teams with room left, I think Atlanta might be his best option out the possible takers. Atlanta could still use a wing player, and the Hawks don't totally suck. The Bobcats might also be interested, but I bet Artest hopes they don't put in a bid.

If he clears the amnesty waiver process, I think Ron-ron will get some interest from a few contenders. He still has a bit of game and can defend. Maybe he'll go back to Houston!

Houston/Atlanta would be good fits. We can't take him - Gay wouldn't be able to handle the competition.

Or maybe he'll go to Miami - seems to be growing as the place for amnestied players looking for one last championship.

It's too bad Minnesota already signed Brewer, because MWP would have been a better fit for them, at a much cheaper rate, assuming he clears waivers.

...But how can you eat a burger without lettuce? Anyone else hear MWP's comments about why he shouldn't be amnestied (I heard it on the BS Report podcast).

MWP going to NYC

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 4m
Metta World Peace has reached an agreement in principle on a two-year deal with the New York Knicks, league source tells Y! Sports.

Maybe he turns it up a notch in NYC since he has to represent Queens to fullest now.
