Lakers overrated ????

I think lakers are overrated. There is only one and competitive good player on laker team and it.s Kobe24. Other players are soft like raptors. Everybody on the media is talking about lakers winning over nuggets, but I am not so sure. So what are your thoughts about that?

Losing one game does not determine their softness Lol. I dunno, just wait it out. Thing will fall into its place.

Kobe is overrated. And the Lakeshow is going to completely wilt in the thin air of Denver.

everyone in the media is not picking the Lakers
I've seen plenty that say the Nuggets will win and that they've been the best team in the playoffs

Kobe is cut from the same cloth as Iverson, Starbury, Francis, McBaby.

He's just much more talented and in L.A. where the pocketbooks run deep.

yea he's totally over rated. i mean he just plays through injury at a ridiculousluy high level, is the best defender on his team and a top 2 closer in the league. totally not a winner...

Yeah, but on laker team kobe is the only one who can create his shot. The crew from ESPN, they all said that Lakers will win. I won't be surprised if nuggets take 3-1 lead going to LA for game 5.

The problem for the lakers right now is that sometime the game is too easy for them. The commentators at the game last night were talking about how they take long stretches off and how they can easily get back into games.

I don't think they're overrated. I think they have so much talent that they don't have to give 100% as a team and can still win. If they play at their full potential I can't see any one of the teams left in the playoffs beating them.

As for Kobe, he is the most talented player in the game. The most fundamentally sound and his intensity is almost Jordan-like. As much as I don't like him and his personality, those are things you can't really deny.

There's no denying Kobe's talent. I'm just not that convinced that the game means as much to him as he does to himself.

At the start of the playoffs, I made bets on three teams to win the Western Conference and/or win the Finals:

1. LA Lakers
2. Denver Nuggets
3. Houston Rockets

I bet on Denver and Houston based on how they finished the season, and both teams did not disappoint in the playoffs. I will continue to ride the hot Denver all the way to the championship, hopefully.

I thought they could be hurt by the size of Gasol and Bynum, but I did not expect Carmelo to play this well.

I'm not claiming prophecy; as I mentioned, I chose them based on how they finished the season, though you do have to admit that I don't think many people thought Houston or Denver would challenge LA so well.

At the books, I got Denver at +1000 and Houston at +2000 (LA was +140), so that tells you what the odds makers thought about their respective chances.

Their supporting cast/depth is overrated. The frontcourt is nice, but Fisher, Brown, Vujacic, Ariza, Walton is absolute trash help for Kobe on the perimeter. No contender should be starting Fisher and Ariza at this point. They should be 20 mpg bench guys. I picked the Nuggets in this series because I think with Gasol and Odom getting punked by Kmart/Nene, the Nuggets perimeter in Billups, Smith, and Melo overwhelms Kobe. The Lakers are only elite when Kobe, Odom, Gasol are all going at once and then the rest are feeding on it and hitting open shots.

their talent in undeniable. but their effort is lacking....i wouldn't say that their soft, they do go after offensive rebounds alot...i just don't think they have the right chemistry to win it all

I don't see how someones effort is lacking when hes giving like 30 ppg a night. Kobe is in it for the Lakers, not for himself. He might have used to be in it for himself, but not anymore

To say that Kobe is overrated is ridiculous - you may like him, you may hate him, but I think it's undeniable that he's one of the best players out there, and perhaps THE best in closing out and winning clutchc games. Cut from the same cloth as Marbury?!? WTF?!? Kobe has 3 championships, and will get more before he's done.

I agree that it's their effort that occasionally lacks. I think they are deep and very talented - I think Kobe is an excellent team player now - but sometimes it seems they lack that hunger, they lack that sense of urgency.

Something needs to happen w/ Fisher - it's clear he can't hang with the other starting point guards in this league. Ariza has been playing awesome and compliments this team nicely.

Bynum needs to man up and this team could go all the way.
