When Kobe gave him the stare-down, Mike's fate was sealed.

I guess that Sloan and D'Antoni would be other options too.
Mike D'Antoni has been discussed by the Los Angeles Lakers as a potential replacement for Mike Brown, according to sources.

D'Antoni stepped down as head coach of the New York Knicks last spring.

D'Antoni is familiar with Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard due to his time as an assistant coach with the United States basketball team, while he coached Steve Nash for several seasons with the Phoenix Suns.

Ric Bucher reports that D'Antoni recently had knee surgery and will be off his feet for the next six weeks.

RealGM

That would be awesome for the Lakers IMHO

He wasn't staring at Mike Brown. He was staring at assistant coach Chuck Person.

Who fires anyone after 5 games? Only a team where Kobe Bryant has let it be known he's done. Has Kobe written all over it.

^^ Mike Brown was that bad though. I've mostly defended Brown in the past, but after last game I seriously, seriously wanted him gone. He has no offence. He's a so called defensive coach but the Lakers were 13th last season in defence and have gotten worse this season. And I don't think the players really respect him. But most of all, he does not know how to manage minutes. Kobe playing 38 mpg last season, and 37 so far in 5 games (in which they lost 4) is just unacceptable. I'm so happy this happened so fast.

Well the team has won 1 game out of 12 and they are playing like shit when they should be sitting at the top of the standings and not tied with Raptors near the bottom.

Why do people assume that Jackson would even WANT to come back? The guy is pushing 70. Let the man enjoy his friggin' retirement ffs.

Why do you assume that Jackson wouldn't WANT to come back? Sometimes a way of life has more allure than sitting on your ass on a ranch banging Jennie. Boooooring

But seriously, this is great. The Lakers as a franchise don't tolerate losing. The Raptors on the other hand celebrate it and strive for losing.

They shouldn't tolerate losing. With tax money they're paying over 100mil and will be around 200mil next season if they re-sign Howard. I wouldn't fuck around either.
