Default L.Tax Breaks

just pondering

do you think teams signing players from their rookie contracts should have some sort of exemption towards the l.tax? maybe whereas a player signing a ten million contract counts as ten million on the caps, but five million towards the initial signing teams l.tax hit.

i just find it unfair that a team that sucked for five years straight would have to let loose of its talent at the threat of becoming a competitive team. i understand that the l.tax was put in place to controll contracts, but if europe is seriously becoming a player, the nba should re-think their cba.

It's just stupid how they have enough money to have a Garnett,Pierce, and Allen line-up along with players like Darius Miles, PJ Brown, Sam Cassell(although they're all vets), on their team..They're salary is around 78 million..That's total bullshit. What you said up there is right,

How many of those are on veteran min's though which barely harm the cap?
