I think it's a good move by Minnesota, they had to get rid of him sometime

But they baited him on by making him write a report of what changes he'll make next season - apparently, he failed

Why hasn't Detroit selected a coach? ... or have they?

Real GM is reporting that his...report didn't include mention of David Kahn secret weapon, Targuy Ngombo.

Wolves Want Rambis To Accept Reassignment

David Kahn recently proposed a reassignment within the front office of the Timberwolves front office to current head coach Kurt Rambis, according to sources.

Rambis is owed $4 million over the next two seasons.

Rambis and Kahn have had a severely strained relationship for several weeks. Rambis, according to the report, has little respect for Kahn's 'basketball acumen'.

Kahn wanted Rambis to communicate more effectively with players and to run a more uptempo offense instead of the triangle. Rambis also had a sometimes difficult relationship with Kevin Love and several other young players.

i'm surprised this isn't offered all the time. they'd be basically throwing away four million with absolutely no return.

seriously though, i feel for rambis. he's getting strung along pretty badly. i guess it's payback for thinking the triangle would work in minny.

Coaching is overrated in sports. Put Phil Jackson on the Timberwolves and see if they win any more games. Put Jay Triano as head coach of Miami or the Lakers and they still will be a top 5 NBA team.

That said I will be a hypocrite and admit that Ric Carlisle coached the sh!t out of the Dallas-Miami series.

I don't think it is overrated but to your point every coach needs some talent to win.

I dunno, it's not like he's Larry Brown. He did let GSW do what they want on offence and they were one of the best. Maybe if he did that with Minnesota they wouldn't be anything special, but they would be a lot better with Love, Beasley if he's there, Williams, Rubio, Johnson etc. They never played defence anyways.

I just said wtf because I thought he was long gone. #1 on wins.

i should have been more specific. jb is in houston, but they were considering bernie. perhaps this is off the table now that jb has signed elsewhere.

Kahn said he has received permission to speak with Portland assistant Bernie Bickerstaff. One of the plans being considered was hiring Bernie Bickerstaff while having his son J.B. tutor under him for a year or two before taking over.

What would you guys say to adding Rambis to our coaching staff as an assistant? Maybe he could teach Bargs some toughness.
