Kobe Bryant playing overseas?

I don't think the lock-out will last 20 games!

if more and more players sign in europe, it does put the pressure on the owners imo. these players can make bank anywhere they want at the same time they risk injury. i hope they all start signing contracts and show they have options they're willing to take advantage of.

If he goes maybe Italy? He spent a lot of his childhood there.

I wouldn't be surprised if he heads to China. He's gathering some other NBAers and planning a tour there .

I thought China had a cap. Unless sponsors pay a large portion of the contract

Italy is the best destination for him (an for us italian fans) he's fluent in italian. Better in north Italy closer to my home

I'm shocked

If the owners are really serious about breaking the union's spirit, star players signing in Europe isn't going to stop them. Hell, if I were Stern, I'd figure that they're actually helping my long term vision of growing basketball as an international sport and particularly in Europe, which might feature a team in the semi-near future.

Stern wants NBA to grow, not just basketball in general. Nothing good about when your league stars doesnt give a shit about lockout drama and just signs elsewhere. It's just made Stern and the NBA look weaker. Patrick Baumman smiling right now.

not really. NBA is where the big money is and all the players will comeback eventually.
Other cities getting to see stars that they would have never seen could make them more excited in basketball

if anything it will have the reverse effect. eurostars who got a chance to play with NBA players during the lockout could be enticed to go play in the NBA.

In other news, Kobe's knee looks good:
