Default Knicks' Lee Joins Garnett and Barkley

By Elias Sports Bureau

David Lee registered his 24th consecutive double-double (13 points and 14 rebounds) to help the Knicks defeat the Hawks. Lee's streak of double-doubles is the longest in the NBA this season. In the past 25 seasons (1983-84 through 2007-08), only two players recorded double-digit points and rebounds in at least 24 straight games: Minnesota's Kevin Garnett (his last 33 games in 2005-06) and Philadelphia's Charles Barkley (28 in 1986-87).

To think that he was drafted 30th in 2005... the year Raps had 2 first round picks kills me.

If the Knicks let him go, they'll regret it. And for those haters that say that he's a byproduct of the coaching system/style the Knicks were playing, he has been gradually putting up solid and better numbers each year.

Gotta love David Lee. I'm a big fan of athletes who get success through hard work.

Lee is a restricted free agent which means that NY can, and probably will, match any offer he gets in order to keep him and there is already talk that teams will offer him huge money forcing Knicks to match and restricting them financially for 2010.

I'm sure teams think about doing that, but the Knicks will still regret letting him go if they choose not to match (unless some team put up 12-13-14 million for him, which I can't see any team doing)

If NYC is serious about bringing LBJ over, they'll have to keep David Lee - no ifs or buts.

stats, coaching, hustle aside, david lee is also regarded for being one of the leagues most atrocious defenders. i like him, but i wouldn't want him starting on my team.

I remember watching David Lee beat James "Flight" White in their High School dunk off.

That shit was awesome, you gotta love Lee...The guy is just a beast.
