Knicks Knicks Could Send Randolph To Grizzles?

interesting...

Quote:
The Knicks are reportedly still discussing a deal with the Grizzles that would send forward Zach Randolph to Memphis, according to Newsday.

Such a move would give New York the salary cap room needed to make a play on the free agent market in 2010.

Earlier this summer, a deal between the Grizzles and Knicks was rumored to be on the table, with Darko Milicic reportedly a part of the package New York would receive.

Supposedly the deal is Marko Jaric and Darko Milic to the Knicks for Randolph who goes to the Grizzles

This trade is only to get rid of Randolph who has more years on his contract then Darko and Jaric. Even though all three of these players are overpried it makes sense for New York. I have no clue why the Grizzles are doing this trade or are even thinking about it

Do the Grizzlies need a reason? I mean, they are the Grizzlies!!!!11!

They have 3 Centers and have not a good PF, it could be a reason if they hadn't gotten the center they are going to trade the last season.

More or less as the new defense coach they signed, when I read the Iavaroni words about it I was surprised, he said something like that with the new coach he was going to let him run the team and thus he could do his things ... now if someone could tell me what those things are, I would be very pleased

As I said before, they are the Grizzlies.

A first round pick seems to be holding up the completion of this trade. From Newsday:

Quote:
The opportunity is there for Donnie Walsh to jettison Zach Randolph's unwanted hefty contract from the Knicks' payroll for some coveted salary-cap relief for 2010. But once again, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, the cost appears to be a precious first-round pick.

Once again, Walsh doesn't appear desperate enough to jump at a deal in which the Grizzlies would take the three years and $48 million left on Randolph's contract while giving a first-rounder to Memphis.

Walsh, just get rid of him already. You're getting younger with the addition of Milicic and he still might have some promise yet.
