The KING watches hockey

The King of Basketball sends his best wishes to the King of Hockey:

"Heading into his upcoming showdown against Sidney Crosby's Pittsburgh Penguins, the NHL's most electrifying superstar is getting the support of NBA royalty.

If Alexander Ovechkin was wondering who might be in his corner in this star-studded second-round showdown between his Washington Capitals and the Penguins, he received his answer this morning courtesy of a gift from LeBron (The King) James.

James, whose CIeveland Cavaliers await the identity of their second-round opponent in the NBA playoffs, sent The Great 8 a personally-signed Cavaliers jersey.

The message?

"To Alexander The Great. Keep Up The Good Work. King James," it said, scrawled across the jersey's white numbers in James's personal handwriting.

Caps owner Ted Leonsis was searching high and low for Ovechkin inside

the Caps dressing room after practice in order to hand over the present shipped from Cleveland by James.

When Ovechkin finally learned the identity of the gift, he broke into a grin

"Niiiiice!" he said.

The Penguins and Caps begin their best-of-seven eastern conference semi-final tomorrow afternoon at the Verizon Center."

Ovechkin is by far the best player in the NHL. And from what i can tell Malkin is #2. Crosby imo is a whiny bitch.

Even though i won't be watching, Caps in 6!

Would Malkin be as good without Crosby? I'm not so sure.

What i've seen of Malkin, he's way more skilled/quicker then Crosby.

Then again, i'm not a Crosby fan to begin with. He's always been a baby imo and way overhyped in this country Sid the KID is an appropriate name for him.

dont make me post ovechkins sissy slap fight.... crosby is more all around then both him and malkin imo, he whined cuz he was 18 years old with the world on his shoulders, not getting calls he has gotten his whole life, he is maturing and is a great leader.

Malkin is MVP, but Alex will prob get it cuz of popularity.

Hockey sucks. Even though Vancouver has won 5 playoff games in a row and are in the second round I don't care too much about it lol.

They are both more skilled, more agressive and quicker then Little Sid. Plus he still whines too much.

Sid is a damn good player and only 21. He whined because he was being mugged his first year. Ovechkin is 23, I know young, but still a big difference.

Malkin is the worst out of the 3. Regardless, this is the type of series that'll make people watch, even myself.

I like both players. Sid is more of a playmaker and plays a better two way game, Ovie is a lethal sniper who also lays out some hits. Different games, both fun to watch. Should be a good series.

agreed w/ your comments about sid,

i suppose ovie should get mvp, because the penguins have both crosby and malkin...so they make life for each other a bit easier.

as for all around player - sid is head and shoulders above both....he's backchecks harder than both... which is half the game.

ovie takes it easy on the defensive end...don't get me wrong he's the most talented goal scorer, but complete player....not so much
