Default Kidd to Dallas?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3244102

ESPN reports an iminent Dallas-NJ swap with Harris, Diop, Stackhouse and filler to NJ for JKidd.

Stackhouse likely to be bought out by NJ. Would have to wait 30 days to re-sign with Dallas. Could Stinkhouse be a swingman the Raps could get for cheap? Would he be worth it?

WOW ... your on the ball with the breaking news again 'trane. First Shaq and now this.

Anyhow, I guess Cuban is throwing all his eggs into one basketball if he's getting rid of Harris (the PG that he was gushing about just the other day - Top 5?) for Kidd. Nice deal for the Nets, but considering Dirk's lackadaisical play this season, the Mavs are still pretty thin in the front court. JMO

Purely fluke timing. I'm crazy busy at work, so I force myself to take a mini break around lunch time and check the ESPN news and RF chatter. Just happened to catch two blockbusters.

I am intrigued by the whole concept of Stackhouse. The artcile talks about him having to resist the pull of other teams while he waits for the 30 days to re-sign with Dallas. Would the Raps even register in his radar? Would he help?

I Bass. Loved him at LSU and I'm liking what he's doing in Dallas now.

Suns, Hornets, Lakers and a healthy Spurs are still better and stronger than the Mavs. I think Kidd will help, but I don't think he's the difference maker in helping them win the championship. JMO

he'll definitely make them a better team... and they are pretty darn good already.
i just dont want them getting far in the playoffs even... a nice first round exit would be great.

CBSports.com is picking up on this now too. Sounds like its almost a done deal. This is the apparent trade:

Nets Trade:
Jason Kidd
Darrell Armstrong

Mavs Trade:
Devin Harris
Jerry Stackhouse
Devan George
Maurice Ager

Yup, its pretty much a done deal. ESPN has it as breaking news right now.

I don't know, but the Mavs gave up a helluva lot to get Kidd. Cuban better pray they go deep into the playoffs because this deal is almost as bad as VC to the Nets. Man, Rod Thorn is a master a trades.

wow...
not a bad trade for both teams actually.
nets get a TON of youth, while Dallas gets their coveted PG to win now.

Dallas will be thin up front without Diop.

Also, whither Stinkhouse?

Deal is now official

New jersey Nets star Jason Kidd has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks, WFAN radio and Sportsline.com are reporting.

The proposed deal, which reportedly was resurrected from a 3-way deal with Portland that never materialized, has Dallas sending guards Devean George, Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse, center DeSegana Diop and another player, possibly Maurice Ager, as well as two draft picks and cash to New jersey for Kidd and another Nets player.

ESPN.com earlier reported that the emerging deal could include Nets forward Malik Allen, but Sportsline and other outlets reported the other Nets player involved is guard Darrell Armstrong.
