Default KG says Jeff Green will be one of the best ever to play the game

ROFL

Quote:
Jeff Green has made a colossal step forward in his fourth year in the NBA, but to his teammate Kevin Garnett, Green’s brighter days have yet to come.

Garnett, who has been in the NBA for 17 years, believes Green has a historically bright future.

“I always said J. Green is going to be one of the best ever to play this game,” Garnett told Comcast SportsNet’s Greg Dickerson. “When you watch him play, you see the glimpses.”

Whether it is a shot of confidence for Green heading into the 2013 playoffs, or a gesture to his latest performances, one thing is for sure, the high-flying, relentless small forward has had his way in the 2012-13 campaign. Per 36 minutes of playing time, Green has averaged 16.6 points, five rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

While Garnett’s absence has been crucial to the Celtics, Green’s presence has been felt in more ways than one. In his 12 games as a starter, Green is posting 22.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the field. But most importantly, the 6-foot-9 swingman is taking the basketball to the hoop.

Jeff Green has been impressive lately, though. He might be an all star if he keeps playing this way.

+1

And, if/when it happens, Danny Ainge won't look stupid for giving him that contract.

I'm not denying he's pretty good.

Did you guys hear what he said?

It is KG though.

He's a great story, and is a talented player, but no frigging way KG.

Very unlikely that an almost 27 year old who doesn't even start for a pretty mediocore team becomes "one of the best to ever play the game"

KG then looked up from his iPhone, and pointing at the Angry Birds game he just completed, said "I've been trying to beat his high score all day, but I can't even come close. If there is an Angry Birds hall of fame Jeff Green makes it first ballot".

So did OKC make a mistake by trading him away? I'm not sure they did.

the trade led to Harden getting unleashed and becoming Harden. the trade also led to that crazy Perkins extension which led to no money to keep Harden. so, basically, a flustercuck either way

I don't know about one of the very best, but I'm sure many also laughed when KG said a few year ago that he thought Rondo would become the best PG in the league. He was close for a while there.

OKC would have made the decision to trade him 10/10 if they had to do it over again. Him leaving meant OKC using Harden a lot more and Harden becoming what he is today. With Green in the lineup, Harden barely ever handled the ball and got limited minutes.

As for Green, I've always maintained that he's an average player, but he's been playing above average over the last couple of months. I'm still not convinced he's more than a fringe starter though, but we'll see.

Harden, what he is today, is a Rocket.

In case you missed my point, you said they would do it 10/10 based on what Harden became. Ultimately, however, what Harden became thanks to Jeff Green's departure is a Rocket, or in other words, something not helpful to the Thunder. In retrospect, had Jeff Green stayed, they still might have Harden now, benefiting them more in the long run.
