It'll be funny when Brooklyn is terrible in 2018 because their key guys retired and their pick goes to Boston

I wonder how long of a leash they give Kidd before he gets the hook.

Didn't know they gave away Evans and Bogans.

They lack depth in the front court if they did. Especially if they plan on limiting Garnett's minutes during the regular season.

Some thoughts:

1 - The KG no-trade clause undoubtedly made things difficult for Boston. It's possible Ainge could have found a better trade, but maybe KG wouldn't accept the other options.

2 - If Boston is going to rebuild, then it's a good idea to start the tank now. This deal makes it easier to tank for next year's deep draft. The Brooklyn picks might not appear great now, but it's better than zero picks. And who knows what happens in 2018? Furthermore, KG and Pierce would win too many games for Boston. So, in terms of tanking for next year, it's addition by subtraction. Those guys had to go.

3 - The Wallace deal is a bit ugly, but if Boston is tanking, they weren't going to add any significant free agents anytime soon. In that context, it ain't so bad. Wallace's final year is the ugly part.

4 - From this trade and releasing Rivers to the Clippers, the Celtics have accumalated four extra 1st round picks. That could be useful in putting together a package for a player in a future trade, when trying to create their new big 3, after getting a stud in 2014 draft.

+1 Boston is set for an epic rebuild.

But what a week for Boston sports fans, Doc Rivers leaves, Garnett and Pierce traded, Ray Allen wins a championship with another team, Bruins lose in the stanley cup finals

Whelp, Boston's off my hate list ... wait ... nm they still have Rondo, I can still hate them.
Now I definitely have to root against Brooklyn, insane trade for them for the next 2 years, then, total disaster.
