KG on the cover of NBA2K9

Quote:
Development for 2K Sports' upcoming basketball sim NBA 2K9 has begun in earnest and a cover player has already been selected. The face of this year's edition is none other than Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett.

Garnett is the reigning important Defensive Player of the year and he's currently duking it out with Kobe Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. He's been named to 11 NBA All-Star games and is a former MVP award recipient.

Garnett expressed his appreciation towards 2K Sports for the honor and praised the game franchise for its high quality. "NBA 2K9 is where it's AT! End of story," he said in an official statement.

NBA 2K9 will be released this Fall and will be available for the Sony PlayStation 3, the Microsoft Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 2. Get ready to get your game on (and to bust out those wallets) by that time.

I'm just hoping they fixed some of the problems with 2k8 and made the computer smarter and the spacing better. 2k is by far the best basketball game still but if they could improve on some of the glaring things itll be that much better.

Nah, you just fix the sliders for that ivan. I'm talking about the stupid lead passes and the computers lack of AI still. And I doubt its coming out for the ps2...

I'm planning on getting the X-Box 360. Lol, I first played 2K8 on the X-Box 360. When I tried the PS2 version, it was a major turn off. It looked like a fricken 1990s game from the arcade..

I dont think it was THAT bad but it was pretty much the same graphics as 2k7 with almost no upgrades anywhere which was disappointing. Then you play 2k8 on ps3 its like 1000x better and you cant stop playing it especially when you get the sliders and rosters right. Its by far the best basketball gaming experience, and like I said if they fix some things with the computer itll be that much better.

BTW, which sliders should I jack up and down so that my CPUs will crash boards and defend?
Like will contest all shots and crash all boards? Because when I play Lakers, Cavs eat me up because their sliders are like set to 110% defense mode and I wanna do that with my Lakers too. It's really bad because all the Cavs do is score on me and Kobe keeps getting shut down.

Actually, you should have the offensive boards near 0 so you actually have to go after it and so that stupid animation where it like sticks to your hand after a rebound doesnt happen. Putting the offensive and defensive rebounding at like 15 for both and go inside at 0 makes them run plays and not abuse the inside as much with the backdoor plays and get the rebounds only if theyre actually near them.

Meh, we don't run plays because I have no ideas which plays get which players open.
Can you teach me a good play to set up open shots for my people? Prefer SF/SG/PG

Press right on your directional pad(the left side of your controller, that pad) and then press o for isolation, thatll spread the floor. After that press right on the d pad again and either press X for pick and roll or L1 for a play where theres a lot of screens and either your sg or sf will get open. Practice running plays, but always press isolation first to spread the floor out.

If so, PM me. I don't want to take over the thread xD.

Man how have you played this long and not even come close to calling some plays or fixing your settings? Without doing either the game is fucked up and you can barely even drive the lane. Its the same thing on xbox man, click the right button on the directional pad, and pick a pla yto call, keep practicing each play until your comfortable running em and successful running em, but make sure you call isolation first, which should be the right button on the right side of your controller. Just look in the manual if you dont know what im sayin bro.

My only problem with 2k7 is that it was too easy to "master" the computer, if you will. Within a month I was beating the computer on Hall of Fame setting by 30 points whenever I wanted. And I don't have Live so I couldn't play against anyone harder.

For the most part, it was too easy to score on drives and running dunks, especially with big players. I got the "Wilt the Stilt" 100 point trophy with Bargnani because he's pretty much unguardable with his size and agility if you use him right (if only he could do that in real life!), all I had to do was run towards the net and dunk over a player or step back and shoot over the smaller defender he was on and it was money. It kind of reminded me of the old NHL 2000 games where you could get all your goals by slapshotting point blank or doing a wraparound.

The only unlockable I couldn't beat was the quadruple double with Kirilenko. That was a bitch.
