KG Calls ESPN.com Poll "Distasteful"

It's called a joke KG.

The poll, drawing on the sports world’s current enmity toward Boston, asked users to vote for the event they would rather see happen - the Steelers beating the Patriots, Johan Santana being traded to any team but the Red Sox, or Garnett blowing out his knee.

Garnett, his mouth ajar in disbelief upon hearing about the poll after last night’s game, recovered long enough to say, “Wow, that’s really distasteful, man. Man, I mean, that’s my life, my career. You don’t joke about something like that.”

Garnett then leaned toward the nearest door - made of wood, naturally - and rapped his knuckles on it, before asking a team official to contact ESPN to register his dismay.

I agree it is of bad taste to put that on a pole, but its not a big deal either.

Like he never dreamed of Duncan or Kobe's knee blowing in post season games...

My money says no. KG is the ultimate competitor. He wants to win against the other team's best or die trying. If I had to bet on one pro athlete being about heart and pride without actually knowing the man, it would be KG.

Interesting.
Is that who your name is a reference to? I thought it was Igudala.
But hell yes, Jarome Iginla is a brilliant leader. My favorite hockey player by miles.

IggyPosterizes 12-20-2007 02:41 PM

ya its referring to Iginla, will go down as top 3 greatest leaders of all time outside of messier and stevens.

Pretty sure he can posterize as well. anyone here ever see kobe in 2004 nba playoffs during the flames cup run put on an iginla jersey and say "you gotta watch hockey sometimes".

You would've thought KG would've left the room swearing vulgarities to himself while looking like he's about to kill you.

DVS 02-11-2010 06:59 PM

Don't even think the big ticket blows out his knee. Simmons the ultimate reject I can't wait until he gets suspended from ESPN once again.

KG rules, ultimate competitor, future HOF and plays the game with nothing but extreme honour. Can't say that about may NBAers

EDIT: Dam this is a mega old thread

Putting all those blood sweat and tears to one franchise that were going nowhere (twolves). Toronto would love to have a player like that

I'm not questioning his effort in the least, nor his work ethic. If you think he is any sort of representative of honour though, you need to do your homework.

He sticks with his team, never pussies out on them. Hey I know he gets the bully card around some parts. However; the hate thrown upon the guy is unwarranted. Many other NBA athletes deserve more redicule than KG.

I think you're mixing up 'passionate' and 'honorable'.
How is running his mouth considered honorable?
How is getting into other players faces considered honorable?
He's got heart. I like the fire.
But honorable?
Heh :dancing:

ha! i hope he does get suspension for Game 2. this guy has some anger management issues. i mean, bitch at the guy as loud as you can. just don't go swagging your limbs at someone that you know will cost your team above everything else.
