Default Kendrick Perkins doesn't like Tyson Chandler: Who would you rather have?

NBA Playoffs 2011: Kendrick Perkins of Oklahoma City Thunder says no love lost for Dallas Mavericks' Tyson Chandler - ESPN Dallas

Quote:
Me and Tyson never got along. I'm serious," said Perkins, whom the Thunder acquired in a trade deadline deal with the Boston Celtics. "He don't like me, I don't like him and that's pretty much how it's been. Everybody always looks at me as kind of like a dirty player if you're on the opposite team, but he's just as dirty as anybody else."

.................................................. ............................................

"I have nothing against him," Chandler said of Perkins. "He won a championship with the Boston Celtics, and that's where I'm trying to take my team. I mean, I've got respect for him, what he was able to accomplish. But all the chippy stuff, the after-the-ball stuff, that's all nonsense and I'm not going to get involved with it."

.................................................. ..............................................

Added Perkins: "We're not going to get tossed, but we're going to play hard. I'm definitely going to play hard. I'm going to do whatever I need to do for my team to win. We both are going to come out here, we're going to compete and we'll go from there. We're going to keep banging."
Chandler proves to be very professional about it.

I would go with Chandler. For these reasons:

7 foot 1
Athletic
Good shot blocker
Has proven that he is a good post defender in the LA series

Perkins easily, he is huge and can defend anyone in the paint with no problems.

Chandlers got that mobility.

Not as thick as Perk, but he held his own against BIG guys all year. He's in a zone.

That being said, Perk is just the meanest looking dude in the league.

i'd rather chandler. both provide a different type of defence in an excellent way, but i've always admired how chandler patrols the paint and challenges everything that enters.

Wow, Chandler handled that well.

I'd rather take Chandler. Unlike Perkins, Chandler is better on the offensive end and can fill up the stat sheet. Defensively, he racks up blocks.

I go with Perkins. Good post defender, underrated offensively and just a tough dude who gets under your skin.

Chandler and it's not close. In fact, I'd take Chandler over Marc Gasol too. Athletic shotblocking C's with great mobility are rare. He's Noah with hops. Great glue guy on D, and can cover more ground than the slower, more grounded Gasol and Perkins.

Injury issue is a concern, as is age, but the talent is clear.

Chandler makes any team he goes on instantly defensive, he's like dwight except without the offense...

i like perkins. he may not be the shot blocker chandler is but i feel like he's a better defender in the trenches and is better rotating to cut guys off. not to mention he's just a straight up scary dude to have to go inside against, and i think that counts for a lot.
