Are you guys being sarcastic about not believing this is a Nike ad campaign?

Quote:
As part of some kind of strange new marketing campaign, Nike has released a commercial of Kevin Durant being stalked/peeked on by a young neighbor named Mathias Murphy.

Basically, the short clip contains Durant doing various things at what is supposedly his home while some strange kid films it and narrates.

We think it’s supposed to be funny, but we’re not sure. What is for certain, though, is that the brainchild behind LeBron James’ “The Decision” infomercial now has some competition for stupidest filmed idea of all time.
Opposing Views: Video: Kevin Durant Gets Stalked in New Nike Commercial

Quote:
It what is either the creepiest viral marketing campaign in history, or an actual case of stalking, Twitter user @kd35sneighbor has tweeted a series of videos showing NBA star Kevin Durant milling around his Oklahoma City home – apparently, without Durant’s knowledge.

The videos, which started being sent out on October 23rd, are all shot from an extremely creepy, behind-the-bushes angle that screams “psychopath.” The first shows Durant moving in, another shows him coming to his front door to pay the pizza guy, and the third, (and most uncomfortable), is filmed from outside his kitchen window, and shows Durant eating breakfast.

Upon further review, however, we’re calling shenanigans. As Ball Don’t Lie points out, the clips are way too polished to be the work of one lone teenager (the proprietor of the @kd35sneighbor account is made out to be a spectacled Thunder fan named Mathias Murphy). Secondly, an experienced stalker would know that a @kd35sneighbor Twitter name would most likely be used against them in a court of law.

And, finally, the most damning evidence that this is a case of misguided viral marketing? Durant himself tweeted at @kd35sneighbor, instead of calling police.

So, which creative team is responsible for this queasy, ill-conceived idea? The frontrunner is Gatorade, since Durant is on their payroll and appears to be drinking their product with his breakfast. This is something no human would do under normal circumstances.

What does this all mean? Well, for one, if the whole “stalking celebrities as the focal point of a marketing campaign” thing ever catches on, you can thank the makers of “G Series.” Also: real or hoax, Durant should pack up and move to a gated community, far, far away from wherever this is.

UPDATE: It’s a Nike campaign (totally our second guess after Gatorade!).
