Kahn: We're done rebuilding

:laughing1:

David Kahn had an interesting comment to the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda on Thursday.

"There is no more rebuilding," said Kahn. "There are no more wholesale changes. I like a lot of players on the team."

Minnesota currently has a 13-43 record, which gives them the worst winning percentage in the Western Conference. They rank 24th in points scored per 100 possessions and 28th in points allowed per 1000 possessions.

:roflmao:

this is just a not so clever ploy so he can draft 2 more point guards in the draft.

Whats so funny? Minny has a really solid core going for them. Love, Beasley, Flynn, Johnson, plus another high lottery pick in this years draft. They aren't done rebuilding just yet, but they are close to becoming a playoff team again.

MISAM38 02-17-2011 09:20 PM

i guess what they mean, is that they wont have to make any major changes in the future??? they have a solid player in Kevin Love, plus alot of youngstarz -johnny flynn, Wes Johnson, and Corey Brewer. once they these ppl hit their prime, Minnesota could be a very good team.

MISAM38 02-17-2011 09:21 PM

O true forgot bout Beasley- that guy is a beast

Don Vito 02-17-2011 09:24 PM

They will get a high draft pick.. and then they are done rebuilding.

jeffb 02-17-2011 09:26 PM

If they are done right now, maybe we should inquire about trading for their pick?

finstock 02-17-2011 09:59 PM

Love is a nice piece, as is Wes Johnson, however, at nearly 24 he doesn't have a super high ceiling. Still not convinced Beasley is intelligent enough, let alone sane. Flynn looks like a back up PG, and the jury's still out on Rubio. I wouldn't exactly be enthused if I were a Wolves fan. Then again, as a Raps fan, who am I to talk.

MISAM38 02-17-2011 10:20 PM

True. In my opinion the Wolves are WAYYYY ahead of us in this "rebuilding" process.

eazy187 02-17-2011 11:21 PM

I guess Darko Milicic was the last piece of their puzzle.

all Kevin Love double-doubles are very useful, aren't they? (sarcasm mode on) :mischief:

they DO have some good players and look to be a player or two from their core away - someone who they may land in the draft.

Rubio punked them, but it will be interesting to see how that whole thing plays out. Either way it's not out of the question that Minnesota turns it around sooner than we do.

I don't disagree with him. He's got young players with high upside on that team. He's done a good job amassing some talent there.

What he really needs some veteran pieces, preferably off the bench in a 6th man role and a SG.

Plus, they've lost a lot of close games this year. They're getting better. Also, I know it's easy to make fun of Darko, but he's been playing well this year so I'm not sure why everyone is crapping on him.

powerfulpanda 02-18-2011 10:43 AM

if the raps played in the west, our record would be worse than the wolves

DonMughal 02-18-2011 02:54 PM

I like how they have young talent at each position. I dunno, I think they have a great future if the majority of their players develop properly.

PG- Flynn, Rubio

SG- Johnson, Brewer

SF- Beasley

PF- Love

C- Donnie Darko?

Doesn't Darko average the same boards, more blocks, the same in assists and more steals in 10 less minutes per contest than our starting centre?:confused2: That i find quite funny!

I find it funny that he was picked over Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh.

Can you imagine this place if Bargs was picked over that kind of talent? Lol.
