I came to the realization last night that this guy has become my favorite commentator in the game right now, surpassing Hubie Brown. His honest perspective as both a coach and a fan gets it done for me in ways that Reggie Miller and Steve Kerr never will. And not having Mark Jackson constantly trying to steal the show has made that clear. Having someone less vanilla than Breen next to him would be a revelation. I can only hope.

has he ruled out coaching again? it's been awhile since i've heard of him being a candidate for an open position.

My guess is that in his mind he has ruled it out for the most part. And I think that makes him a much better analyst.

I want to hear a couple of games with both the Van Gundy brothers as commentators.

I can't get why you guys are hating on Hubie. Guy knows more about basketball than everyone here put together. I love his insight and listening to it.

I personally like Steve Kerr because he communicates as a fan/player/executive and it comes out in his analysis. I may be in the minority but I also like Chris Webber on the rare moments.

Yes though, JVG right now is just at the top of the food chain.

I like Webber more than I thought I would. I would like to see him used more in that respect. And I can live with Kerr for sure.

I wish Bill Walton would go back to national TV and be on with the Czar and Marv, or with JVG on ESPN. JVG and Walton going back and forth would be better than the game itself.

I'd pay money to see Bill Walton doing any game.

Agreed. Expected to hate Webber. Pleasantly surprised.
