You know what we should do. We should void all the players contracts, and have an ultimate fantasy draft. It's win-win for both sides. Players get out of their current situations and basement-dwellers and small market franchises get a chance at some real talent.
Do your thing, Stern. ![]() |

three team trade? Send him to Philly, bring Iggy here, and send a collection of duds to ATL. lol
This could be a blessing for ATL, though not the scenario I'm suggesting. |

If trading him means that they take a step back, I think they should seriously consider blowing it up. I like a lot about Joe Johnson's game but that contract is a killer. Amnesty Johnson (not sure the contract is trade-able), trade Smith for a quality center, trade Marvin Williams for a pick or give him a chance to flourish, and rebuild around Teague (maybe), Horford at the 4, and whatever else you can scrape together in free agency and draft.

I think Smith is still upset how he's been snaked from the All Star Game. I totally agree how the Hawks sohuld totally start rebuilding. Johnson is starting to age slowly now, and injury is getting to him. Though he's a solid player I thought the max money was too much.
However I wouldnt mind this trade though: Raptors get: Horford And Patterson Hawks get: Ed Davis, Barbosa, Budinger thabeet and Dalembert Rockets get: Josh Smith, Gary Forbes and Raptors 2013 1st, 2012 2nd Not sure if its a solid trade, but Ill say it works out for all 3 teams in some way |

Who needs more than that? Thats a pretty fair getting back someone who could be a top 3 C very shortly if he gets his act together on D and rebounding, and someone who already is a scoring machine downlow.
Smith is a really good player, but Lopez has the potential to be a lot better impact wise and obviously numbers too, but its on Brook to stop giving no effort on defence and rebounding. |

If there's any multi-team trade that could net us J Smoove for our pick + something small (I.E. James Johnson) I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Calderon/Bayless DeRozan/Barbosa Smith/Kleiza Bargnani/Johnson Valanciunas/Gray Depending on how well JV plays, I think that team could get to the second round. ![]() |
