Josh Childress hesitating about his future in Olympiakos

The most expensive basketball player in Europe, Josh Childress is seriously thinking over his future in the Greek Olympiakos. The information about the possibility that he might reconsider his plans for the upcoming season was distributed by the Greek media last week but no one paid attention to it. A reason for the statement of the player was the Olympiakos fans, which caused rioting during the first game of the final series of the Greek championship against Panathinaikos. The Olympiakos fans were throwing little bombs in the hall, squabbled with the police and finally the game was interrupted.

Regarding this case, Childress shared that games in the NBA are a true holiday, both for players and fans but in Greece the fans want to win the game. Not much attention was paid to his words because few hours after his statement, Associated Press published an exaggerating interview about the conditions under which the star is living and playing. Meanwhile, his former team Atlanta Hawks is not hiding its intentions to being him back. In an interview the general manager Rick Sand comments, that after the end of the Greek season, they can offer Childress a one year contract.

Now, there is different information, which came from New York Post, according to which Childress will return to NBA but not in Atlanta. According to the newspaper Childress does not agree with the philosophy of the coach Mike Watson, who wants to keep him on as a reserve. Childress’ contract, which was defined as the biggest one in the European basketball history, shocked the National Basketball Association and the international basketball last year. The contract was signed for three seasons and for $20 million. The 25 year old wing player chose the better financial conditions of the stronger Euro instead of the NBA class, where the salaries are in Dollars.
