JJ Hickson about to be dealt?

WindhorstESPN report on @Cavs trading JJ Hickson. They insist they will get multiple picks or a player. Want unprotected pick in 2012

2 players you can talk to Cavs about now: Ramon Sessions & JJ Hickson. Andy Varejao not available for just a draft pick.

Wasn't Hickson the best player on the Cavs last year? Smh......

Dark Knight 06-16-2011 07:41 PM

Making room for Williams? Hmm...

Are you kidding? If anything they should trade Moon & Graham... they need Hickson off the bench.

komot 06-16-2011 09:14 PM

JJ is a beast on the inside. boards/blocks/cleanup duty. smaller version of bynum w/o the post up ability.

hickson was horrible last season....
he only had one good month.

Ball Don't Lie 06-16-2011 11:27 PM

Hickson is overrated. Hes a good 7th man on a good team. Hes not a starter.

He was on fire during his last 15 games of the season. He worked well with Baron Davis.

In my opinion, it's difficult to gauge what he's worth, especially if we're talking about an uprotected pick in the 2012 draft, which is supposed to be deep.

Anyways, here are his numbers from the final 15 games of the season:

52% FG
19.6 PPG
11.8 RPG
6 FTA
11 double-doubles

Nites 06-17-2011 05:00 AM

^^Did they win any of those games?

INSIDER 06-17-2011 07:52 AM

What were his stats in the first 4 months of the season?
2 weeks doesn't make up for an entire season of mediocre, lack luster ball.
He kinda stepped it up when Jamison went down but was a huge disappointment early on.
I personally don't think the cabs should dump him just yet, but if they can get a top 3 pick in a trade, they should be all over that.

He was great as a center. He played center last 2 months and had a strong finish. Room for D-Will? Maybe? Maybe it's another smokescreen?
A lot of possible smokescreens. I think CAVS wants Irving and Williams badly. Thats why they try to get wolves' pick. I think it's obvious Minny wants center. Thats why we hear all the CAVS & Kanter love. If Cavs never gets second pick, they do everything they can to get D-Will with their 4th pick. I think they want Minny to believe Kanter is good...

But it's only my thoughts. I saw one genius meter here, who thinks CAVS taking Kanter with their first pick. The guy who was equivalent center to Jonas 2 years ago and never played ball since then HAHA.

Let's be serious, Jonas and Enes weren't equivilant 2 years ago, although Jonas has done a lot of catching up and if Jonas didn't have that contract till 2013 he would be considered higher than what he is.

In regards to the draft though I am not a believer in Irving at all - with his injury already in college, not being able to come back in at pre injury form, and his continued inability to work-out at all (and now is overweight)....the only one high on him is that sleezeball in hawaii - which shows a lot of his personality if it's true. I think Irving is over rated now post-injury and the pick will be based on pre injury upside. Williams is a good pick for the Cavs at 1 and go after knight or Kemba with the 4. However, I could see Enes going 1 and then trading JJ for another piece and taking knight/Kemba. And I don't really believe in all this age stuff about Enes or possibly this hussy in Hawaii with Irving, so many negative stories that suddenly come out the week before the draft?? No collusion, disinformation or misdirection going on at all from other teams.

Although on another note, I think it's hilarious that Knight challenges only Irving to a pre draft work out knowing full well that Irving is the only guy that will say no cause he's still hurt. If Kemba and Fredette are lesser players then take them on.

At the end of the day, I would take Kemba over Irving or Knight, Enes over Kemba and Williams over Enes. For the Raps and the 5, I would totally take Kemba.

Ball Don't Lie 06-17-2011 01:10 PM

The guy may score some points sometimes, but he doesnt play a lick of defence and doesnt 'get it' yet. He may never get it. Hes a liability if hes playing more than 30 mpg currently.

Isn't Williams wanting to be an SF and his position in the NBA would be that? leaving Hickson at the PF? Wouldn't this move make Gee expendable?
