Jerryd Bayless request for trade

Quote:
Multiple sources in the NBA have told me that Jerryd Bayless seems to be the most available player on Portland’s roster. A couple of sources indicated over the weekend that Bayless has asked the team to trade him, because of his lack of playing time. I wouldn’t blame him — young players want, and need, to play. And if he wants out, the team should try to accommodate him.

i dont see why the blazers havent traded him as yet.
he's got a lot of upside and teams would be interested in him... and he's their 3rd string PG. they should have traded him as soon as they signed miller. unless they are planning to trade miller - which was a huge mistake in the first place.

Why doesn't he play in Portland?

Do the Blazers know something that we don't?

Bayless has barely played so nobody really nows.

I think Blake is a decent player, but its ridiculous how he overuses him and has limited the playing time of Miller, Fernandez, Bayless and Rodriguez. Blake tends to get a pass when making big mistakes the others dont. He is not a very good defender, he misses key free throws and he is not a creative playmaker. He is just there to hit the ocasional 3 and pass the ball to Roy.

i think its more around the fact that bayless is the same type of player as roy... he's a scoring pg. it would be redundant, and would stunt roy's game if bayless was out there alongside him.
it doesnt make sense to have them playing together. roy needs a pg that will get him the ball - nothing more. bayless was never a good fit for the blazers, and thats why we never see him play.

Of course it doesnt have much sense to have the both playing together. The thing is he only plays the trash minutes. Thats why he wants out. Same reason Rodriguez wanted out.

He doesn't play much. I can understand his frustrations. Asking for a trade seems to make sense in this case as he's not likely to see any minutes with Roy, Webster, Miller and Blake eating up a lot of time. Sounds like he cares more about his career growth than the city of Portland.

i believe that bayless has the potential to become a great pg. Of course we have all determined that miller/blake/roy will take most of his game time if nething. he needs to be put on a team that needs that offensive intensity from the PG. From what i see, he's aggresive, needs to work on his shot, but has that killer instinct to get to the rim. Not sure about his passing/defense though.

Which is exactly why he's such a good fit alongside Brandon Roy. Brandon Roy is much more effective when he's got the ball in his hands, he creates, and Blake is there to hit the three if need be.

I never understood the Andre Miller signing, still don't. It's as if they signed him just to sign someone, after failing to sign Turkoglu.

Portland would be VERY good with Turkoglu.

I think Bayless can be a Monta Ellis-esque cat..He'd be a decent fit on this club IMO..playing off the ball with Turk as the premier handler..If it's my decision though, I'd try to ship out Miller before I give up on Bayless.

Injuries have thinned out Portland's wing spots, I could see a Weems for Bayless swap go down.

unfortunately for the blazers, no one is dumb enough to take miller and that massive contract off their hands....
