Knicks Jerry Sloan next head coach of the Knicks?

IF so.....WTF are they waiting for?

Sources close to the Knicks say the team needs to make a coaching change to replace Mike D'Antoni.

Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN that he would be surprised if D'Antoni isn't replaced within the next few days.

Phil Jackson has been frequently mentioned as a successor, but Jerry Sloan could also be a candidate.

Sources say Sloan would be interested in coaching the Knicks. Several teams pursued Sloan this past summer.

However, I did post in the Melo thread about Sloan possibly inquiring about the HC position but again, a grain of salt, a source of a friend heard it from another source....

Although, sometimes where there is smoke.....

If you're replacing D'Antoni with Jackson or Sloan, then you try your hardest to keep Melo. He's still the best player on the team, and it would be silly not to give a high-profile head coach a chance to work it out.

Totally agree, it's one or the other and let's be honest, Melo isn't going anywhere anytime soon - especially the day before the trading deadline. IF anything is going to change it would be the coach first.

there is only one coach that would fit that team, phil jackson. considering the spot light and the caliber of superstar and ego's that will need to be controlled i can only vision phil jackson being able to do it, being able to mold this terrible knicks team into a champion.
