However, I did post in the Melo thread about Sloan possibly inquiring about the HC position but again, a grain of salt, a source of a friend heard it from another source....

If you're replacing D'Antoni with Jackson or Sloan, then you try your hardest to keep Melo. He's still the best player on the team, and it would be silly not to give a high-profile head coach a chance to work it out.

Totally agree, it's one or the other and let's be honest, Melo isn't going anywhere anytime soon - especially the day before the trading deadline. IF anything is going to change it would be the coach first.

there is only one coach that would fit that team, phil jackson. considering the spot light and the caliber of superstar and ego's that will need to be controlled i can only vision phil jackson being able to do it, being able to mold this terrible knicks team into a champion.
