Bucks Jennings Open to Returning to Europe?

Not a bad idea actually. Sign a nice 1 year deal in Europe, make some Euros, and then come back to the US to play for your NBA team.

Quote:
Brandon Jennings is willing to return to Europe, where his professional career started, if there is no 2011-12 season in the NBA because of a lockout.
Quote:
"I'm sure my value will be higher than it was before, the first time I went over there," Jennings told NBA.com. "I'm sure this time I'll get some playing time. The will be the best thing, I'll be able to play now, make a little money and keep some income coming in for my family."

Players are within their rights to work and therefore play in another league, regardless of their current contract status with NBA teams, in the event of a lockout.

Sounds like what a lot of players would do.

Euro basketball could be really exciting next year...

Imagine Kobe, Wade, Lebron, CP3, Melo etc all end up there for the year...

No team, or very few will pay that much money for a 1 year contract. And if Im not mistaken by what I have read, the lockdown may not even last a year.

only bench players and some starters will look

the guys you mentioned make $20 mil a year, plus they have ad money to live off of. They're not uncomfortable...unless they have Antoine's accountant.

True

But hey, imagine if they play for a lower salary how exciting euro ball would become for 1 season...

I mean there could be U.S sports networks jumping on to show the games for the hardcore fans to get their fix..

I'd prob watch Kobe + new team vs Lebron + new team for fun...

Is there a cap over there?

There are wealthy owners no? I dont know shit all about the euro league but I'm just saying wont the teams bring in more revenue, merch sales, tv contracts if NBA players decide to go over seas for a season?

Nah, they'd probably all just go to the same team. Olympiakos or CSKA Moscow.

Games at 2 PM!!! Yeah that would be awsome. I'm sure there will be even more talk a strike looms even closer.

Realistically, this might turn out to be a huge commercial for the NBA, if they end up deciding to expand to europe...

I don't think all-star player will go to europe, but it's possible a lot of good role players could go. Euro basketball is no shit even if it's not NBA level.

Oh, ok then. But still, I believe most of the contracts prohibit it.
