The Boston Celtics announced today that forward Jeff Green will undergo surgery on Monday January 9, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic and will miss the 2011-12 season.

A team of leading cardiac specialists who consulted with Green and the Celtics indicated that surgery should completely repair Greenís condition and that he can expect to resume his NBA career next season.

They're not willing to blow it up just yet. Give the vets one more year.

Boston is done. I don't see them even getting near the finals, let alone winning it.

That sucks. Hope he recovers and he's back to 100%.

Notice that he's on a 1-yr contract too. He could be a deal next season for some team at the MLE.

His contract is voided (he failed his physical), so he'll still be restricted by the Celts next season, and I certainly expect him to be signing for more than the MLE.

You'd think so.... but I wonder how much this little health scare (minor as it is) will scare certain teams. He also hasn't looked nearly as comfortable in BOS as he did in OKC.

I wish him well though. I still kind of wished that we'd have found a way to get him here.

Ed Davis and Bayless is an offer Boston would sneer at unfortunately. Rondo would be a fantastic guy to chase though.

Rondo is an immature twat that I'd rather not have on this team, ever.

Really? Ever? I'm not the guy's biggest fan, but I'd take him in a hearbeat, assuming he was okay with playing here and didn't bitch about Toronto.

Really?

Because I think that the list of players available to us would be a VERY short one if maturity was a defining component in a star player.

How "mature" do Lebron and Wade look?

How 'bout D12 and CP3 after all of these trade demand shenanigans?

I thought that Lebrons "The Decision" was too much IMO. Celtics might not even take this offer if it was Derozan, Davis and Bayless for Rondo. But when your teammates call you out about your immaturity, I really think it means something though

But I hope that green goes to a speedy recovery, I've always liked him when he was in OKC

Rondo sucks. So overrated it's ridiculous. With that said, I would welcome him with open arms if he traded here. Unfortunately, our entire team is not enough to compensate Boston for losing Rondo.

this is a big loss for celtics, Jeff green is one of the guys that they need to keep their team solid and play off contending.
