Jeff Green getting a lot of interest

Quote:

David Falk, agent for Jeff Green, has had exploratory contract talks with "12 to 14 teams."

"I know that (the Celtics) want Jeff to come back, from (general manager) Danny (Ainge) to the owners to Doc and to his teammates," Falk said. "He loves Boston. We're waiting to see what happens with KG, what happens with Ray...There are other teams that could be very, very interesting to him around the league that will also have cap room.

"We've picked out three or four teams, of which Boston is one, that he has a high level of interest in talking to. I would say that Boston is the incumbent, but I've learned in this business not to assume things. Nothing is guaranteed."

Falk promises to drive a hard bargain.

"With the possible exception of (Brooklyn point guard) Deron Williams, I think that Jeff will probably be the No. 1 unrestricted free agent on the market," Falk said. "It's not like we have LeBron (James) and (Dwyane) Wade and all these guys floating around.

"I'd be very surprised if Deron Williams winds up anywhere besides Dallas or New Jersey (Brooklyn). So the next guy in the pecking order is Jeff Green.

Thunder trade Green, and are now in the NBA Finals. I think he's a bit overrated.

So is Perkins

Ya, but Perkins at least plays defense, and doesn't have a bad ticker.

He's only good for post defence. His P&R defence sucks. He can't finish 2 feet away from the rim. If this guy wasn't allowed to set so many illegal screens, he would be complete garbage.

That and trying his best to look tough. Can't believe the praise this guy gets sometimes. I would honestly rather have Reggie Evans. Rebounds better by a landslide(one of the best in the league), provides way more energy, and even his post defense isn't so bad. I remember when he was on the Raptors we were playing the Magic and he locked D12 down the entirety of that game at C, we won that game.

wee raptors should try to sign him, bc likes bigger 3's garbajosa and kleiza, he fits that kind of mold just a way better player on both ends of the ball he could be a perfect fir for the raps and player like bargs who needs help rebounding

plus he can switch on bigs and smalls so he can make our defense better

He also had a hand in bringing the Celts one title and had he not been injured in Gm 6 the following year they'd have probably had another one.

Perkins is what he is... a solid post defender who's toughness makes him a pretty valuable piece.

Also.... been saying this for a while now but I think that people are going to be surprised by Jeff Green next season if he's back at 100%. Versatile, young player with a lot of upside. Will be a big loss for the Celts if he goes elsewhere because a smallish lineup of KG, Green, PP, Bradley & Rondo would be great to work with.

coming out of college, i liked green over durant. i couldn't get over how skinny durant was. i thought he was destined to have a career like shaun livingston.

Would love to see Jeff Green go back to the Thunder as the back-up to Durant.

I think they're more concerned with keeping harden and ibaka lol

I like Green, but if he's who we end up with it'll probably be deemed a failure of a summer. Of course it would depend on what else we could get done. But I bet we're one of the teams that have contacted him.

I wouldn't say that. Pending his health, I think he would be a welcomed edition to our cast. He's a hard-nosed 3 that defends and rebounds, as well as still being quite young, meaning he can grow with our group. He and JJ would be a real good wing rotation.

I like Green. He was unselfish to a fault in college and loved passing the ball. I think he would be a good fit with Derozan & Bargnani.
