Pacers Jeff Foster re-signs with Pacers

I wanted to share this since there was some interest for Foster on this board.

Quote:
Free agent PF/C Jeff Foster signed a one-year deal to return to the Pacers on Friday.

Foster was drawing interest around the league as a backup big man noted for his toughness, but now he'll return to the Pacers in the same role as last season. Barring a significant roster change or injuries, Foster will have no fantasy value this season.

Pacer for life. He's the best backup that you could have for Hibbert.

Dammit!!! The guy I really wanted. With him, we could have had Magloire, Foster, and Bargnani all play 10-15 minutes each a night at C, with getting Alabi some time in there too (and maybe even some Amir/Ed Davis time in there too), and had a bit of a Center by committee approach for the next year, until JV comes over.

It never was realistic for you to get him unless you overpay. This is probably his retirement year, it makes sense to retire with Pacers unless you want to chase a ring. Next year - transition to front office or coaching of some sort. His back has been barely holding these last few years.
