Jason Williams leaves the Magic

Quote:
ORLANDO -- Orlando Magic guard Jason Williams has left the team during its current road trip.

OrlandoMagic.com broke the story but did not give the reason for Williams' departure. The report cited Otis Smith, the Magic's president of basketball operations, as saying the team will deal with the matter after Friday's game at Chicago.

Williams, 35, has seen action in just one of Orlando's last 19 games. He was a key contributor off the bench for the team last season, averaging 6.0 points and 3.6 assists in 82 games.

This year, he is logging just 2.1 points and 1.5 assists in 16 games.

Seems they're implying he's upset with the lack of PT.

Well when you have Nelson starting and Arenas coming off the bench, you're screwed.

Considering the guy retired, then came back to play... I don't blame him....although there are more professional ways to handle it.

He should be happy with what he got, he is a 35 yr old PG.

Nothing wrong with quitting if you aren't happy...As you said, he is 35 years old and maybe he doesn't feel like watching the game and would rather not get paid.

His choice, he isn't causing a big thing of it (as far as we know yet).

Apparently they waived him. He played in all 82 games last season.

Blazer fans like him, never no, if he's cheap our new GM might buy him at coupon price. We're struggling with Miller in Nate's offense because he can't shoot outside 20 feet. Coach Nate needs his PG to bail out the offense with deep shots when the shot clock starts running low, after the snake-eyed screen and runner offense breaks down. That's why Steve Blake played well for us, and Nate benched Miller last year on favor of Blake. Which of course led to a hysterical half hour outburst from Andre at a Blazer's practice, because he'd never gotten pulled from a starting lineup in his career, and Nate was jackin' Miller's playing time.
