Default Izzo is new Cavs head coach?

Quote:
Sources close to WFNY have informed us that Tom Izzo has told his players at Michigan State that he plans on taking the Cavaliers job. Our sources have heard directly from players on the MSU team that Izzo informed them this week that he is planning on making the move up to the NBA level under the ownership of MSU grad Dan Gilbert. We have also heard from a separate source that Izzo is holding off on announcing this until the end of the week, when his kids finish up school in the Lansing area. While Izzo could always change his mind, we are comfortable reporting that he has in fact informed his players at Michigan State that he will be taking the Cavaliers job.
would have liked to see him in Toronto
like the guy, but dislike the team

maybe a question mark should be added to the title

the Big11 is adding Nebraska, another non bball school
looks like you'll dominate for years with only Wisconsin, Purdue and maybe Illinois
but I can't count out the Spartans

I just wish someone would take Barnes away fron Texas

Life is good when Ohio State owns the Big 10 in Football & Basketball.

Yeah can't count MSU out but with no Izzo but it will be tougher for them. Izzo is an top 3 coach in CBB.

probably because Ohio State holds a monopoly on the state and others have to share their states

at least Ohio State has a confrence, don't know whats happening to Texas, but they better hire a coach instead of a recruiter

fyi I like(d) Ohio State before I moved to Texas and started to like the Longhorns
until I move to one of those states, I'll like both

I have respect for the Texas program and school. Them and Ohio State are very similar so I respect the program. I actually don't mind seeing them do well in both sports.

With Nebraska coming to the Big 10 I would guess the rumor of Texas and 5 others(A&M,Oklahoma,Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, & Colorado) could really be going to the Pac 10.

Texas has to take all the Texas schools with them if they want to more (A&M, Tech, Baylor) its in Texas law
yes, thats how serious sports is down there
Nebraska might leave and they might take Arkansas or TCU

I forgot about Baylor. Baylor would take Colorado spot then.

ESPN news is reporting that Nebraska has agree to join the Big 10 and will announce it tomorrow. So sounds like its done.

My only thing is what is going to happen to Kansas? They have a great basketball program and sounds like no conference wants to add them(SEC,Pac 10, Big 10). If the 6 schools listed go to the Pac 10 then Kansas might fall fast because the Big 12 will basically be nothing left.

Its all about football
I think the Big 12 will still be there, they can still take TCU, Arkansas, teams from Mtn West
would be cool to see a Texas confrence with the 2 oklahoma teams and arkansas, good rivalries there from the swac

True. I am a much bigger CFB fan then CBB fan but it just seem like someone would want Kansas. lol - They give you a elite CBB program and their CFB program has been solid the past few years. But like you said this is all about Football in the expanding. Well and money. lol

Kansas did get a new coach and things were looking up, looks like Mizzou didn't get their invite either and people forget about Iowa State
Probably going to end up with 4-5 superhugemegaconfrences down the road
playoffs please

I wonder about the travel arrangements for weekday games outside of football, College Station to Seattle is not close

hopefully Big Ten is renamed now, call them the midwest confrence or new and improved Big 12

Yeah looks like mega conferences will be starting soon and an playoff could be close.

Big 10 will most likely add Nebraska, Missouri, Rutgers and a couple more.
Pac 10 + 6 of the Big 12 schools(4 Texas schools and 2 Oklahoma schools)
SEC will probably go after ACC schools like Miami Florida, Florida State, and VT. Then a couple more.

Maybe the Big East teams, left out ACC teams, and left out Big 12 teams fill out the other Mega conference. Big East would be the Basketball conference still.

and in the end the Mtn West still can't be invited to the title game
