Yes, plz rethink this thread, it's a sham, Iverson doesnt need to be the focal point, he loves having a good team around him and is very very VERY willing to play team D and do whatever it takes to win, dude is a complete winner.

Also, based on this sample, I believe the Lakers are out-of-sync offensively, and can't compete for an NBA championship this year.
how about a sample size of 10 games?:

denver 8-2
Detroit 5-5

discuss.

Well it was obvious it was going to take DET a long time to adjust to Iverson because they went from a structured system where they knew where they were getting their shots to a more free flowing, but more isolation offence where Rip doesnt get it where he wants or get it nearly as much as before, and besides Prince and Sheed, the rest of the team as well.

And DEN went the opposite, went from the free wheeling isolation offence to a more structured offence where guys are sharing the ball and being unselfish knowing where shots are going to be taken from.

If DET ever figures how to get that mix back WITH Iverson in the lineup then theyll have a shot for a title, but right now its looking unlikely.

And DEN is still a fringe playoff team, so even though they got a little better ultimately theyre in the same place IMO

life used to be so nice for the Piston players.
imagine having a PG who would get you the ball no matter what. A PG that would run a perfect system.
now they have to work their asses off to get the ball at their favorite spots, and have to fight to get their looks.
poor Rip, he used to run all around the court - knowing chauncey would find him... now he runs all around the court and doesnt get rewarded with passes.
his average has dropped of by 6 points a game!

the pistons are clearly out of sync... and thats why they will continue on a downward spiral... its usually the PG who rights the ship and gets things under control. unfortunatly they dont have a PG anymore.

on the other hand, Denver is laughing because they have finally got that PG they've always wanted.
i bet they are kicking themselves for getting rid of Camby.
Camby on that team would have made them contenders, IMO. Nevertheless, i still say they do better than 8th seed this season.
They are playing some of the best basketball they've ever played, all thanks to Billups.... or should i say, thanks to AI being gone.

Life was great for them, until the conference finals, when lulls in scoring did them in time and time again.

:P

but strength of schedule has to be taken into account. detriot has faced tougher opponents, also went on a wc road trip which started right when iverson joined the team.
also, its much harder to adjust to detriot's offense.

Probably because the reason for the move was the fact they went to CF so many times after winning and lost many years in a row, and they think Iverson's scoring may be a way to get them over the hump and if it doesnt they got cap room anyways, its a no lose deal for piston fans.

Rip would be useless in Sam Mitchell's offensive system.

i beg to differ, he'd probably be amazing... smitch runs zero plays... rip could just run around all day long and wouldnt have to worry about plays.

yup. curry said he can't have players not showing up for practice.
he's fined him.

what makes this funnier is when ai joined the team one of the things he mentioned was that team chemistry is very important and to develop that there's gotta be a lot of practice time.
