A.I has played his first game in Eurocup.

He missed a gamewinner 3pointer, so his team lost 91-94..

Still, 15 points isn't that great from a former MVP of the NBA that is now playing against scrubs in Turkey. Even Will Solomon dominates there.

I think Iverson had a decent game. I mean he's playing in a different country with foreigners who barely speak English. That's some culture shock and it will take time to get used to the environment.

Players don't also score that much in Europe. Averaging 20-25 is very good. It's not a one man game.... far less iso and more ball movement. Less space to work with 2 pt FG. Doubt Iverson is quick enough to take it to the hole either.

15 pts is decent for 25 minutes of play. Don't hate on a legend.

Damn guys, 15 points it's not bad. Course 1 of 6, poor shooting, but not a terrible performance. By the way, it's not a Turkish domestic league, it's Eurocup game, first Eurocup tour this season. It's international tournament, don't worry about the language barrier, everyone speak english down there (much better than me). I think only in Spanish league a lot of coaches speaks in Spanish. It's the best way to learn that language I remember David Andersen signed with Barcelona and after 6 months he spoke in Spanish easily.

Eurocup site is here http://www.eurocupbasketball.com/

And do not compare him to Solomon, Ukic. Europe basketball is just different. And I don't think Iverson can be such a good player as Solomon was. Solomon was a good player, not a NBA star material, but not bad. I don't know what happened but he just failed.
I just checked all rosters, yes, Eurocup is very weak. Iverson is HUGE thing, no doubt, but do not expect he will have 25/5/5, it's not gonna happen... It's not Iranian or Chinese league. If you ask me, this guy [Louis Bullock] (click his name), who is 34 years old and play in much better team, will be more valuable Eurocup player than Iverson.

Hope this isn't true but article claims Iverson is broke. Is it possible considering he made $154,000,000 in the NBA?

Report: Iverson is in Turkey because he's 'broke'

Quote:
Former NBA all star Allen Iverson is playing professional basketball in Turkey and is reportedly "broke." Posted by Ben Golliver.
Quote:
We've been following former NBA all star Allen Iverson's road to Turkish professional basketball team Besiktas with interest, and we're not allowed. Philly.com sent a writer to Istanbul to check up on Iverson, whose most recent game was televised on NBA TV Sunday.

The report is fascinating: Iverson is not even close to a household name in Turkey, where interest in soccer far exceeds interest in basketball. Worse, some digging uncovered financial troubles for Iverson are reportedly his motivation for playing overseas.

"It's not a problem, it's not a problem - money," Iverson said at an Oct. 29 news conference in New York. "Obviously if it was about money, I would jump out there and say, 'You want me to come off the bench? How much money are you paying?' It wouldn't be a big deal. It's not about money or anything like that."

A member of one NBA front office, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the subject matter, said that prior to last season, a member of Iverson's family called to inquire about a contract for Iverson, explaining that Iverson owed that person money and would be unable to pay without a contract.
A similar source explained that Iverson is broke, plain and simple.
Over his NBA career, including his lucrative deal with Reebok, Iverson made more than $100 million.

Iverson signed a multi-year contract with Besiktas for millions of dollars. Hopefully that money will, in a roundabout way, provide a happy ending for one of the NBA's most popular players in recent years.
