Ukic is playing for Fenerbahce and that is one of the two elite teams of Turkiye. Besiktas is not an elite team. Fenerbahce or FB as we call it short, is a candidate for final four of Euroleague. Ukic is much better than Iverson at this stage of their careers.

mb666, most players here in Turkiye speak better English than Iverson, fyi.

Firstly, he wasn't playing against 'scrubs' in Turkiye. That game was against a Serbian 'scrub' team in Eurocup. Secondly, Turkiye has one of the best leagues in Europe after Spain and Greece. Turkish teams are not that bad and the national team won the silver medal in Worlds and lost only to the US and was the best defending team by a huge margin.

As for Solomon, he used to dominate games when he was in Turkiye or in Israel before. He didn't dominate every game but he had the liberty to take the last shot. Think of Anthony Parker, he was the MVP of Euroleague and look at him as an NBA player. Believe it or not, our Nesterovic is also currently dominating the Greek league which is loaded with best Euro players. European basketball is just different alltogether.

Just watched the end of the game, wow.. they didn't give the ball to iverson for the last shot, pathetic. They gave it to some no name scrub.

The last play was stupid. Mire Chatman just killed the time and then tried to be like Teodosic. Iverson was negative in the cluch minutes. Missed fast break and offensive foul.

BallinEurope, the European Basketball news site Blog Archive BG Göttingen 85, Be?ikta? Cola Turka 83: Iverson lives up to star billing, goes for 18 points

I love how positive he is being in this situation. You look at the feedback he's getting from his coach and opposing coaches and I think that's a pretty honest reflection of who Iverson is. One hell of a bball player who always gives 100% and plays to win.

He really got put into a bad situation in Detroit and got a served quite a raw deal by the media and his teammates, pretty much getting the worse of a bad situation that was out of his control.

One of the best ever.

After bringing Allen Iverson, Besiktas now pushed for the transfer of the Boston Celtics’ star Shaquille O’Neal. Seref Yalcin, GM of the Turkish club, said he was in the United States to meet with the center who said to him: “I want to be champion this season with Boston. But I’m coming to Turkey next year.”

Yalcin also said Iverson served as an intermediary, talking with Shaq to convince him to sign with the Turkish club. Shaquille O’Neal has signed a two-year contract witht he Boston Celtics but the second year is a player option, which means that, if a lock-out is confirmed in the next months, this scenario isn’t completely unthinkable.

“Some people will still come out and said ‘Shaq won’t come to Turkey’,” Yalcin added. “But the chances are very high.”

Well, everyone thought that the arrival of Allen Iverson was impossible. And it happened. We don’t see O’Neal come to Europe before he’s 40 but we also never say never

I didn't think about the how the Euro pro leagues will be impacted by an NBA lockout.

That could be fun.

Iverson numbers in Eurocup : 11.5/2.5/2.5.

Funny note. Eurocup player of the week - Primoz Brezec
