Cavs Irving out up to a month with shoulder injury

Quote:
Kyrie Irving's up and down second season might be mostly finished.

The Cavaliers announced Monday that Irving is projected to mis 3-4 weeks because of a left shoulder injured sustained Sunday against the Raptors.

Irving's injury won't require surgery, but he'll sit just to rest it.

The injury happened late in the third quarter when Irving attempted a baseline drive but was bumped hard out of bounds. Irving's left shoulder hit Jonas Valanciunas hard in the midsection. Irving remained on the ground in serious pain before staying in to shoot his free throws -- one-handed -- and then leaving the game.

The Cavs only have 19 games left and if Irving misses the full four weeks, he would return only to play in Cleveland's final three games.

Irving, 20, is averaging 23.0 points and 5.7 assists in 49 games this season.

Weren't they contemplating whether to sit him for the rest of the season? I guess this seals the deal.

it's insane that he's only 20 and is THIS good. he could turn out to be the best pg in the nba at a young age if all goes right. did he make any of the one handed free throws?

Cavs management secretly love this as an excuse to return to TANK CITY.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been my loathing since Lebron left and they immediately landed Kyrie. Bunch of cheating scumbags. I'd hate to be coaching such a quitting team.

Quite the change of heart for you eh...just a few months ago, you had this to say in regards to Kyrie Irving:

From thinking he'll never become an elite PG (he was elite in his rookie year) to thinking he can become the best lol.

This was around the same time you said Phil Jackson isn't a great coach.

He is an beast though! Fun player to watch.

Yeah, Irving is such a joy to watch. Probably my 2nd favourite player in the league.

Im pissed off that we didn't tank properly when the time was right.
I still remember those comments, ''Lets win few worthless games, it will build personality etc'' so where the hell is this winning culture if i may ask?

Yep. I'd bet if they were in the playoff race he'd be back immediately or within a few games. They were already talking about shutting him down due to a 'sore knee', now they found a legit excuse. Tanking at its finest. At least they know how to do it right, unlike the Raptors.
