Im with Steven A. Smith on...

The East now being, Detriot the best, Cleveland 2nd best and Boston 3rd, Orlando/Toronto battling for 4th... let the flaming begin muahahaha gg if Boston meets Cleveland in the playoffs ;)

I don't think i'd rate Cleveland that high just yet. I'd rather seee how they mesh and if Wallace still sucks or not.

I see it like this:
1. Detroit
2. Boston (athough i would put them very close to Detroit)
3,4,5. for me, it's really a toss up between orlando cleveland and Toronto. seriously. it could go either way, but i think Orlando will be the better of the three.

.

It only takes an injury to KG, Dwight, Chancey, LeBron or Bosh to shuffle East big time... time will tell who will come out of the East... time will tell... :batman:

i think Boston's getting a bad rap...
when healthy, they were almost unstoppable... they lost KG for a few weeks and returned back to earth.... and when the loses started coming in, critics jumped on them.
its pretty unfair if you ask me.

i still say detroit is the team to beat, and always have... but theres no way cleveland is higher than Boston...
if the celts lose one guy, they still have 2 more to pick up the slack... and they'd still be damn hard to beat... but if lebron got hurt, the cavs would be worse than miami.
every one talks about celtics being a 3 man team, with no bench.
cavs are a one man team with no bench.

MangoKidHoops 02-22-2008 03:12 PM

I agree with that. I think the moves Cleveland made will indeed put them in the ECF this year, that is, if Wallace can regain some of that magic he had in Detroit. I think he can.
Big Z, Big Ben, Lebron, Wally and DWest? That's a damn solid starting 5 if they all play up to potential, with Joe Smith, Boobie, Varejao, Eric Snow coming off the bench? Pretty good.

Well lets be serious, almost every team is done if they lose their best player, and i think that includes Boston without KG in the playoffs. SA without Timmy? Done. Lakers without Kobe? Done. Hornets without CP3? Done. So on and so forth, so that arguement doesnt really carry much weight to me. Im obviously not taking in2 accounts injuries, but LeBron is a pretty durable guy anyways, i just feel the Cav's are such a big team up front, i actually like their bench a bit better now, and unless some1 can stop LeBron suddenly, i really think they have moved to the elite of the East and are still the defending champs.

Remember i said it 1st tho, Cleveland > Boston if they meet ;)

INSIDER 02-22-2008 03:55 PM

i'd actually love to see a cleveland vs boston matchup.
now that hoops pointed it out; their bench actually looks pretty good.

still, i think they are getting too much respect right now.
boston should still be ranked ahead of them.

good point.

but theres no team that relies on their star more than the cavs.
at least the other teams can still compete.

1. Detroit
2. Boston
3. Cleveland
4. Orlando
5. Toronto

toronto will end up finishing 3rd or 4th.

Anyone that thinks CLE is better than BOS now is either a fucking idiot or just a pure hater. CLE is still garbage. DET isnt losing to them this yr in the 2nd round.

Once KG gets back to full health the Celtics will get back to early season form. Big 3+spporting cast>>>>>>lebron's pansyness and a bunch of crap.

Claudius 02-22-2008 08:14 PM

I agree Thriller. Boston is STILL the team to beat right now in the East.

Belsius 02-22-2008 08:23 PM

Cleveland has NO chance at boston. Maybe Detroit cause they are good in the playoffs.
