Nuggets Iguodala likely to opt out of contract this summer

Boy, i'd give my left nut to get him here.....

Quote:
Andre Iguodala is likely to exercise the opt-out clause in his contact after this season.

Opting out would enable Iguodala to obtain a multi-year deal elsewhere or possibly lengthen his commitment to the Nuggets.

“You got to weigh options,” Iguodala said. “Security-wise, a player would opt, especially with the type of season we’ve had as a team. Teams know what I can bring to them, and I know (the Nuggets) know what I can bring to a team here.

“Players get like $50, $60 or $70 or $80 (million over multiple years), whatever the number was, they gave up a big number (in an option season by opting out). But in the grand scheme of things, pretty much get it back. You got security.’’

Iguodala declined to guarantee he would re-sign with Denver.

“Obviously, it’s a business, so you’re going to look at your options,” Iguodala said. “Here we have some good (prospects). But I’m not making any promises.”

i'd do it. Basically, Demar+bargs for iggy+pick+prospect? yes please.

But it still doesn't seem to work financially. Even if the cap goes up by some 3-4 mil... there would still be less than 10 mil to spend after those moves. And that under 10 mil would have to include both Iggy and the prospect.
Iggy's not going to leave 16 mil + to take some 8-9 mil.

Iggy here would be amazing. He makes Demar look like a pylon that has been kicked over.

A soon to be 30 year old coming off his worst season, whose best years were played at SF and who was a cancer in Philly on a young team to be our new starting SG. Get 'er done.

No, there was a million threads here about him throwing hissy fits on the court, elbowing teammates, etc.

Perhaps he didn't like Doug Collins a whole lot, but I ain't making this shit up.

This team could use a vet like Iggy that is still in his prime, defends like a beast, can hit the three and isn't completely intent on jacking up spinning fadeaways. He won't come here, he'll go to a team that has a chance of winning. He can't be that much of a cancer cause his teams continually find a way into the playoffs.

We should go on a mission to get all the players we should have drafted.

Next on the list : Danny Granger

PS. Iggy aint going no where. He's just saying what his agent wants him to say. Big $$$ in Denver awaits him.

I don't think you were ever really on an "iggy ship", let's be honest. I can remember you questioning those of use who wanted Iggy over Rudy. And there were other times where rumours came up and you were not positive. Sorry if I'm being a douche with the quotes, but it annoys me that you're saying you were on a "ship" when you were hardly, if ever, positive about making a move for him.

But with Casey in the fold Gay has more potential to be a Scotty Pippen type player than ever!

AI or Gay "Pippen"

I'll take Gay any day!

(please exuse the pun, even though there is nothing wrong with being gay in my books)

I'm not a fan of Iggy either.
Lets just figure out how to trade Bargs & Jose for picks 1 this year & the other an extra pick for next year.

except AI is a solid 3 pt shooter.

however, to give up on DD so as to make room for AI, a dude in his 30's and on the waning end of his prime?

get that gaaabage outta here

poor DD. he's shown so much heart, work ethic, improvement, and love for the city, and yet, we all consistantly rag on the dude. he's flipping 23! let's give him a chance to do what we know he can do cause he's done it before, i.e improve ONCE MORE this summer, and next, and next.....

Iguodala is just another wing player who can't shoot.

We have enough of those here in Toronto.
