If the Pistons buyout Hamilton, could he be Boston bound?

he would be stupid to give up that kind of money at this point of his career...stay with the team and get paid...
|
Fuck that if he can go to Boston and win a chip, then do it.
|
That would make the average age of Celtics like 35? Lol.

if you weighted the Boston age by minutes they play, you'd get a higher number
Edit, did the calcs, only marginally higher, still under 30 |
BOS starters average age is 30.4 Bench is all right. Except Shaq, 38.
For comparison : DAL starters average age is 31.8 LAL starters average age is 30.4 CLE starters average age is 28 MIA starters average age is 28 TOR starters average age is 24.4 |
This would make boston even more scary. Hope it doesnt happend.

Championships = legacy Money = ????? |
This would be ridiculous, not so far-fetched though.

and there is no way getting a championship with the celtics is going to solidify his legacy....i just dont see it...is it going to define JO's or Shaq's legacy if they wins a championship with the celtics? i dont think so.... |

Listen, if I had 30 million already in my account and I had the chance to win another championship, I don't think I'd hesitate. How many players don't even have the chance to get 1? He'd have a legit chance at another 1 and possibly 2. Yeah, I'd take that in a second. And it is his legacy. Legacy to family. Legacy to the game. When you go back and you look at rosters of teams that win championships, you see the players names there. They'll ALWAYS be on that team. No one can take it away. Who'll remember you signed a contract for x amount of dollars though? |
FWIW Rip has already made about 75-80 million dollars in his career.
|
Considering how many professional sports players go broke after their career has ended, I would think they would be inclined to take the cash! Unless you're Latrell Sprewell, who was insulted by the offer given by the Twolves...since he needed more money to feed his family...
|
Damn, it's only a NBA ring, not a olympic gold or something greatest in the world. And man, there is no guarantees you get that ring...
15-20M dollars... Do you guys understand it's 15000000$ It's like This http://www.automobileupdates.com/wp-...rdo-Spyder.jpg + http://www.automotoportal.com/media/...11010.6_mn.jpg + http://thumbs.trulia.com/pictures/th...s-CA-90064.jpg + http://www.aircraftsales.com/images/...5_exterior.jpg + http://www.yachtbroker.com/media/boa...6173620/01.jpg + http://extimages2.living.net/ImagesH...2/O5017984.jpg |
He also will not be giving up $20,000,000. What exactly he loses will depend on the new CBA but he'll still get a decent contract when the next free agent negotiations begin, especially if he plays a pivotal role in helping the Celtics win a championship.
Keep in mind that he is also dreadfully unhappy in Detroit. It might be worth it to him just to get the heck out of there. |
that pay check could put a smile on anyones face.. except maybe Latrell Sprewell.
